Week 10 Playoff Projections

And their tough schedule. Already played @ Alabama and @ Texas and have @ Ole Miss and Tennessee coming up. Not a Georgia fan at all, but that is a tough slate right there even if the other 8 games are fluff city.

Sure, and it's likely enough for a playoff spot, just not enough to go to the ccg

If Georgia has two losses, they can only blame themselves.
You are not being reasonable.
Georgia has @Bama, @Texas, Tenn, and @ Ole Miss

A&M’s toughest games are LSU and Texas

Texas has Georgia and @ A&M

Georgia is playing 4 or the top 5 teams with 3 road games

A&M is playing 1 at Home and Texas is playing 2 (one is n the road)

Texas has a better chance of having a singular loss, than Georgia even with losing to Georgia. How many losses would Texas or A&M have with that schedule? I am Texas fan and I would say 2-3 (4 isn’t out of the picture).

Big 10 isn’t much different with OSU playing the 3 best teams in the league (outside themselves), while the others only play one. PSU and Oregon don’t have a single road test

You can still make the playoffs. You can't win the conference.

If the SEC wanted to ditch traditional rivalries for more balanced schedules they could.

It cracks me up when people pretend teams like Florida are only mediocre because of their SEC SCHEDULE! Florida would still be a mediocre team if they were in the ACC or Big 12 too.
This is nonsense. Florida has a legit SEC schedule, probably the hardest in the league and maybe the country. Now if people pretended Mizzu is good, because they play a SEC schedule, you would have a pt. As I have been pointing out in this thread SEC and Big 10 schedules vary wildly in terms of difficulty

16 teams, 2 divisions..
each division schedule inherently has massive overlap.
I think we eventually get even bigger conferences and perhaps a conference playoff at some point

Dude, again. We literally just went through this for over a decade in the BIG and the west constantly shit the bed and skated by. This was the exact format the BIG used except it was 14 teams.

Even with OSU having the most difficult BIG slate i dont see the big deal. Beat Indiana and its all moot.

I don't really care what they say is more important, as long as it's consistent. I would tend to lean towards a team with better wins, even if they have an extra loss, over a team with no good wins and a good loss. Which is appears IU and PSU will likely have.

So you’d give 2 loss LSU a home game over 1 loss PSU even though 1 of LSU’s losses was to a team who’s 4-5 and currently 15th in the Big 10 standings (who PSU also best head to head)

This is funny because you know the SEC honks would be trying to claim USC as a “quality loss” for LSU while in the same breath saying PSU has no good wins.

In this instance, no because of that bad loss. If it were Georgia for example, I would absolutely rank them higher. Even a 2 loss Bama would make a good case IMO.

I'd say they are probably a top 30/35 team. They'll probably finish 5-7 or 6-6 because of their schedule (and now their QB injuries), but any top 30/35 team would have the same results.

The comical situation will be if Texas loses to A&M Texas would really have no “quality” wins. But I’m sure they’d figure out a way to put them in.

I’d say MAYBE top 50. Florida isn’t beating any of the better teams and they are going to have trouble against anyone with a pulse.

Come on codaxx. No doubt Florida’s schedule is difficult. They should get credit for playing it…especially their OOC.. even if FSU sucks this year. But there is a hell of a lot of difference in just playing a good schedule and actually having some success in doing so. Hell Miss St has played a good schedule too so that old dog don’t hunt.

And Florida lost to frickin’ UCF.

Again, Florida lost to UCF!!!!!

They were absolutely seen that way. LSU did not drop far all things considered after their loss.

If the #13 team lost to USC at this point of the season, they might very well fall out of the rankings

A fine example of why preseason rankings need to go away. Now more than ever with the transfer portal NIL and everything each season is even more different than the previous.

Well they are top 30 in Massey, Sagarin, 38th in SoR, and top 30 in Game Control and 31st overall efficiency. Every metric suggests they're probably a top 30/35ish team.

Eh screw the metrics I’ve watched them play and they are as mediocre as it gets.
