NFL WEEKLY GAME THREAD Week 17

i haven't been paying attention to this game, but clearly josh harris is paying the refs, never seen a phantom offensive holding call before.
Bruh they owed the skins a holding call.

really hope the falcons win so the eagles can crush the fucking commanders (the easiest matchup they could get in the playoffs). but they're moving the ball in OT.

Watching the Atlanta defense try to tackle is hilarious

Replay booth has a plane to catch

Sam Darnold 35 touchdowns. Damn what to do next year? I hear Vikings will offer 142 million for 4 year deal but he could implode too again. 35.5 million that could have been used on others even though they still have McCarthy. The real question is wtf is that fraud Kyle Shanahan doing not seeing Darnold potential. Quarterback whisperer my ass. Anyways, Darnold probably would have crashed and burned with this 49er roster and coach this season. Life turned out quite well for Darnold.

The MVP race really should be between Goff & Darnold and determined next Sunday night.

It was a stupid hire. Arthur just wanted someone he was familiar with. They let Belichick head to the college ranks

I mean, Eberflus got fired for doing the exact same thing in Chicago with a bad team in a "meaningless" game, no? Meanwhile in Atlanta Morris will probably be given the Montgomery Burns Award.

28-3 broke that entire franchise.

Won 7 games every year since 2018 other than 2020, so the fact Morris won 8 this year probably gets him extended and a spot in the team HOF

I just think it’s funny that people are calling for heads with the Braves after making the playoffs with one of the worst injury plagued seasons I can remember, and UGA fans are gonna be calling for heads if they don’t win the natty, but we’re all just so wired to expect mediocrity from the Falcons

Time/clock management is a basic skill for a coach. The scariest thing is that I suspect that Raheem still isn't looking in the mirror and saying "I definitely made a mistake there".

I don’t understand that at all. If you were to throw me into the fire of being an NFL head coach despite having no football coaching experience at any level, I’d be in way over my head on most things, but I’m very confident clock management would not be an issue

I mean, seemingly 10 year olds who play Madden can handle it.

I do realize that doing this under the bright lights with a million things going on is a bit different but that's part of why Raheem has the job rather than a 10 year old in the first place.

numbers similar to Cousins... pay the man, i don't disagree, he's very good.
Only thing I worry with Purdy: having accuracy issues with the long ball recently. Either short or overthrows. He had the ulnar surgery. One of the Michigam QBs had it too but it failed and had to quit midseason. Only one other QB in the NFL has had that surgery. So health to me is the worry.

And who was the offensive coordinator? Kyle ShitInCan. In New England, Shanahan's Super Bowl debut is part of Patriots lore, as he was the offensive coordinator for the 2016 Atlanta Falcons. Those Falcons famously opened up a 28-3 over Tom Brady and the Patriots, only to not score for the final 22:29 of regulation before losing in overtime. Sounds like the 2019 49ers Super Bowl? Up by 11 with less than 7 minutes left and lose by 10? 2023 Super Bowl? I think they led 10-0 but your a head coach and ignore Special Teams....Special Teams in last year's Super Bowl that muffed a punt and missed an extra point. ShartInPants head coach...should know better as head coach special teams important. This year's 49ers special teams historically bad. He owns that ridiculus record of being something like 0-30 when down by 7 or less in 4th quarter at one point with 49ers. He is breaking the 49er franchise too now with some abysmal darft picks....Trey Lance anyone????

Good start for 49ers. Purdy now 18 TDs and 10 Ints for a hideous team. Not terrible.

Let’s go Lions
