Week 7 LOL thread

LOL at anyone that is still on the Pete Golding bandwagon...there is too much talent on our defense for it to be this bad.

Pete Golding is so bad he's making me forget about BOB...at least the offense scored 42 points in spite of him.
How that dude still has a job

... He has to have something nasty on Saban.

You had the #2 ranked scoring defense statistically going into Knoxville. Perhaps maybe the atmosphere and Heupel's offense combined helped cause some of the breakdowns as well.

Not sure if you are hearing same news as me but apparently several Alabama players have already admitted the atmosphere rattled them a little.

Maybe there is more to the story than just bad coaching on defense. Perhaps it was bad preparation for the atmosphere/ambush you guys were walking into. The stars were just aligned against you that night.

Alabama needs to wake up and be Alabama again or you guys may let Tennessee beat you twice against Miss State this weekend.

Lol @ that Bama fan who started a thread to cry about officiating. We get that one yet?

I am going to say it and I don't mean it against several of the good Alabama posters on here but I think we just need to laugh out loud at how bad Alabama fans are melting down about this loss:

1. Alabama sucks now
2. Defense sucks
3. Saban lost his coaching ability
4. Refs, refs, refs
5. Tennessee cheated
6. Tennessee bullied our fans after the game
7. We don't storm the field because we are special and we are Alabama
8. You celebrate when you beat us but we treat it every other Saturday when we beat you (not sure about that, but you definitely don't like to lose to us apparently)
9. Almost forgot the ref that celebrated when Tennessee scored conspiracy going on now

They are still in the damn National Title hunt and could even play Tennessee again yet they are melting down at a level that I have never seen before. They lost to Texas A&M last year and there wasn't this meltdown. What changed? Clearly it is related to who they lost to but man it is getting ridiculous at this point.

The elephant (I love the pun) in the room is that they walked into an insanely hostile environment with a fanbase that returned with a vengeance. The team was clearly rattled by it (despite what Saban is saying). Numerous players have referenced it. That led to the 17 penalties, the fumbles/mistakes, breakdowns on defense, etc.

The Heupel offense is real but I think Neyland had more to do with it than anything. Sometimes you just walk into a major ambush. I said the same thing about Oregon with Georgia in their opener. This was a major ambush for Alabama.

So you got an "L". You did around this time last year and still went to play for the title. Jeez...

The refs were bad Saturday...but they were equally bad...bad calls on both sides of the ball and no call on bad plays on both sides of the ball. That crew was suspended for being shitty a few years ago and they haven't improved. I hope they get the shittiest SEC matchup from here on out because nobody deserves that. Actually, I hope they get no SEC matchups from here on out...they're like a Pac-12 crew.

Our defensive players do not suck...our defensive coordinator most definitely sucks...I wasn't on the Golding bandwagon when we hired him and nothing has changed. The dude should be the DC for some middling FCS school. The only thing that makes sense to me is that Saban was so tired of new coordinators every year that he was willing to put up with mediocrity. Nothing I see from either of these clowns is innovative.

Agree on Neyland, I think a lot of people forgot what a tough place that can be to play...including Tennessee fans. Saban said the crowd was a non-factor, but he's lying to himself...they played a huge factor in the 21-7 start and Alabama was not able to recover. I think it was less of an issue with the later quarters because a lot of that was played in the middle of the field, but those early sets of downs in the end zone...huge factor.

All the rest is just noise. some from a spoiled fan base and some from one that just got a 15-year monkey off their back.

We also have 3 of the best pass rushers in the country, two transfer players who were All-Americans at other programs and nothing but 5 stars on our defensive roster. That kind of talent will dominate lesser teams regardless of coaching because a lot of defense is reactive.

Against better teams, you have to create as many mismatches as the offense does. Pete was as confused as our players were sometimes Saturday. I thought Tennessee outcoached us on both sides of the ball. They played aggressively all night and gave way better than they got.

Tennessee is flat-out not as talented as Alabama on either side of the ball, I'm talking overall, certainly, there are some Tennessee players that are just as good as their Alabama counterparts, but overall less talented. What they were though was better coached and better prepared on Saturday and they executed.

It's not doom and gloom though, this is hopefully a teachable moment. How we respond to getting flat-out punched in the mouth over the next couple of weeks will determine whether this team has any moxie or not.
