If you just look at the team stats without context, the Cocktail Party was pretty crazy.

Florida gained more yards, had more first downs, won the time of possession battle and the turnovers were even at 3 apiece, yet Florida lost by 27.
 
LOL at Neal Brown switching out quarterbacks for a play or two when the starter was doing fine thus causing us to punt.

In Frost's defense -- the QB throwing the 3 interceptions may be his best option.

Plenty of other things to do in SoCal other than "watch football (college or pro)" or other sports. SoCal is One Big Distraction, especially with all the covid paranoia going on now on the west coast.

My theory remains that LA is and always will be a pro sports town. Last really poor run for USC also coincided with the last time there were two NFL franchises there too (Rams & Raiders). They got noticeably better when there was no competition for football there.

Sure there will always be the Lakers but it seems when there is a local pro football franchise that’s where their fans throw their support.

I get what you're trying to say and your theory may not be that far "off the mark", but winning will usually solve the attendance problem - pro or otherwise. :nod:

Most places that have great fan attendance in CFB, win or lose, are generally in the out-of-the-way places where there usually isn't all that much other things to do and college sports (especially football & basketball) takes on a bigger and more loyal fanbase.

AND that works out great for them. SoCal is a whole different animal... :heh:

If I’m the Buffalo coach, my 4th string DE comes off the bench to ear hole the kicker on the extra point.
then my 5th string TE would ear hole whoever kicks offs.

I probably shouldn’t ever be a head coach.
