These are 3 seperate incidents?

The sad reality of it is this is only going to become more common. Less and less people want to work in the public sector so they are faced with hiring people who would normally not even get a second look

Both my in laws are teachers and both are about done. My SIL has about 8 years to go and she will ride it out but my BIL has about 12 and I can just tell he isn’t going to make it (part of it is his fault by pissing off the administration but that’s a long story).

Even our best school systems around here are struggling to find quality teachers.

Most of my youngest daughter’s teachers are 22-27 year old women. It is glorious.

I just interviewed a woman in her late 20's/early 30's who got a bachelor's for elementary school teaching and did that for about 6 years before going back to get another bachelor's for software development. It seems that it doesn't take long for people to abandon that job. And going from elementary school teacher to software developer says a few things, too. This was a nice smart gal who I imagine would be a pretty good elementary school teacher.

I think the private sector, especially anything close to the tech space, has skyrocketed in the compensation department that more and more teachers are getting out of that public sector. One of my assistants is doing that. He quit teaching this last May and I've been putting him in contact with groups I know that are hiring BA's. Entry level BA is still 2x what he was making as a teacher.
