Welcome to the SEC, Pirate

To be honest, he is a lot like Paul Johnson's old Georgia Tech teams. They present a unique match-up that is hard to plan for, especially in a short frame of time. However, if you prepare your team properly, you can beat them.
The chop blocks were the worst part about playing Paul Johnson’s teams. Undersized o-line trying to cut the d-lineman down at the knees. You could usually plan on one d lineman getting hurt every time you played them

Did Johnson beat people he shouldn't have and then turn around and lose to a bad to mediocre team?

Yes. There was always 2-3 teams a year caught off guard by Georgia Tech. Similarly. Georgia Tech would sometimes be beaten by mediocre teams that prepared properly for them.

Never understood the triple option offense Paul decided to run at GT.. That place would have thrived under an air raid coach. Play in the ACC and have access to a building recruiting base that specializes in skill talent.

It's just like playing the Armed Forces schools
