I am absolutely sold that if you are not one of the "elite" (top 3-4) level recruiting programs every single year (getting elite linemen) then you had better have yaself a mobile QB. They just make your offense better. Just the threat scared those LB's to death

I agree. Which is why offenses evolved. The lower level programs didn't have a chance trying to slug it out in the trenches if they couldn't get equal talent there.
