Good weekend for rain, no baseball because of spring break.

Team is starting to come around, but it will very much be a work in progress. Multiple firsts last night though, including our first inning where we didn't get run ruled. I'm buying some tennis balls to use in BP to try and give these kids a sense of "this is what a pitch that will hit you" looks like coming out of a pitcher's hand. Got a few kids that still aren't comfortable as hitters.

Just throw baseballs at them lightly so they get hit and realize they don't need to be so afraid. Worked for the teams I coached.

The one kid who cried and almost wouldn't bat has been hit and has gone to the hospital zero times as a result. So my thought is to work specifically on protecting yourself as a hitter and having game-ish speed pitches coming at you so you know what a pitch that might hit you actually looks like. Also, I am going to point out that stepping out with one foot actually makes you a bigger target and opens you up more to getting hit in the face/hands/noots, so stay closed.

Getting a quote to get front stairs retucked and glass block that broke replaced with brick. Hopefully this guy is reasonable because I don't feel like getting 3-4 quotes.
