What are you getting others for Christmas?

I never really thought about that. I don't think I thought about that much when I was young, though, either

It only takes one instance of seeing a young child cry because Santa doesn't love them as much as their friends to put things into perspective. My wife and I discussed a lot about how we'd plan to raise our children before we got married and Santa was one of them. Both of us are teachers and have had several students over the years with circumstances that will break your heart and make you reevaluate your mindset on things you may have taken for granted.

Much like snow days being a vacation from school, but then realize how many children will go hungry.

This is a pretty cool idea, might have to piggyback on this one

They have been able to duplicate the individual buoy harbor bells from all over the country.
They have sound samples so you can listen to each one, and make your pick. I got the Outer Banks, because my wife used to visit her Uncle out there and that's what she wanted.

I'm sure a lot of people are from those Harbor areas, and would like a familiar sound.

Bought my wife a new Kindle. Bought my son some video games and a new laptop.

My wife is going to buy me a bass guitar kit that I can assemble and finish. I really like doing that kinda shit. I'll post the progress on the DIY board.

We decided to keep it simple this year.

Nice. My cousin and I used to build guitars years ago. This is the last one I built (first with binding) and ended up keeping it. Used a template and router to get it profiled, then a few attempts at getting the two tone finish I wanted.

Very nice!

Apparently I really did buy a 6 pack of walkie talkies. Should be here soon.

I never owned a slot car track as a kid.
Still have 3 of my AFX tracks from when I was a kid-they're probably 40-45 years old now. I've set them up over the years when my kids were little. Bet it's been over a dozen years since I broke them out. Waiting for grandkids at this point.

I don't think they were as popular in the late 80's and 90's when I was a kid...they were more a 70's/early 80's thing

we had Nintendo and the like to keep us entertained

I had a small track, but I played more with Hot Wheels

Might be why so many of your generation grew up to be panty waste?

Had these things stashed back in the attic for 25 years.
Giving them to my son.

as for the wife, I still haven't figured that out yet. she's a bitch to buy for. very, very particular in her likes and dislikes.
Get her a mop....it's practical and she will NEVER forget it.

Just kidding.....you would be up shit creek without a paddle.
