I think that's the funniest thing about this. Cade is posting on twitter about how everyone is doubting Iowa's offense next year....and it's going to be kind a funny watching him realize Iowa is still Iowa when he's at the helm.

I really just hope we don't have to play him, because it would be kind of sad watching his hopes get destroyed. Cade hasn't quite realized yet that his best years in football are behind him.

Another thing to consider is that Michigan only has 3 total players in the portal. So clearly this isn't some widespread thing. Something happened with Cade and Erik All (and my guess is still it being related to JJ winning the job). For context, Alabama has 12, Wisconsin has 9, Clemson has 8, Iowa itself has 7....

Cade transferring is not a surprise. I think most kids would do the same thing in that situation. All had about 15 mins of fame last season. If you are butthurt about not playing they have the portal. Shut up and leave

Kids are crazy not to utilize the portal if they are going to be stuck behind someone else for all/most of their eligibility. It's college football today and I don't really blame them

I think it's more interesting what's happening when coaches leave. USC getting OU's coach and QB in one swoop was pretty devastating to the program.

Cade, a captain, trashing the program on the way out was the surprising thing. That very literally does him no good -- it could only harm him. Especially when Harbaugh is pretty close with his brother (you know, 1/32 opportunities Cade has to be an NFL QB). It's not like he didn't have a shot, he just lost it and pretty convincingly.

Yes, players being able to follow the coach they were recruited by certainly can hurt a program but it's a necessary evil IMO. Oklahoma is still Oklahoma and I imagine will recover just fine in time

what hurts them is players transferring out to not sit behind a star QB, the coach leaving and that star QB leaving...leaving OU without a replacement. I think that's going to be more and more common. It's going to take a bit for OU to recover, and they're about to hit an SEC schedule soon.
 
I don't fully blame Cade. Not only was he the starting QB for what had not only been the first team to beat OSU in a decade, but was also the best Michigan team in quite some time. It's not often you see the starting QB of such a team lose their starting gig the next year. I do think going to JJ was the right call, but I do get Cade's frustration.
 
Hilarious how Michigan always plays the "choir boy" role.

Of course Harbaugh or the university could never be in the wrong.

I don't think there's an argument who the better QB is now. Cade finished last year against OSU and Iowa with 1 TD and 2 INTs. JJ finished the year against OSU and Purdue with 7 TDs and 1 INT. It's frustrating to lose your spot, but he had a chance to win it again and he lost it. Most QB's don't even get that, and Harbaugh took some heat for even doing it.
