Similar, but mine are for Sweetwater. I'll likely go with a Squier Classic Vibe 60s strat and an Epiphone Casino once they come in. Both lower tier companies from their more recognized parent companies have been putting out some great guitars recently.

One of my granddaughter got the Squire for Christmas. Surprised by how good it sounded.
Entry level guitars today are light years ahead of what a beginner could get 10, 20, 30+ years ago. Will there be some fit and finish differences between them and the big name American made guitars? Absolutely, but for the huge difference in prices, these can be fixed (fret ends/etc) and still come in way under the price. Sound/tone are very similar.
Resale value will be higher for the big names, but that's not what I worry about, since I'll plan to keep them for a long time.
Changed it up slightly. I tried what they had at the store and am pretty decided on this one. The maple fretboard just felt like scrap lumber. And this white one seemed to play a good deal better, but that may just be the rosewood talking.
Good choice on the Epi, there are a few at my store. I am at the point in my life I want the Strat, and nothing else will do.
I'm also looking at a white strat and will likely change the pickguard to a tortoise shell:

Nice, I've got the same amp. I suggest picking up this foot switch that works perfectly fine and a lot cheaper than the Boss version.
