What do you think about your team’s chances in 2022?

2021 they made the playoffs as the number two seed, and I am delusional enough to pick them 15-0 every year, I will predict they will win it all!!!

Iowa State:

The Good: Have been recruiting well.
The Bad: Losing way too many key players (Purdy, Hall, Kolar, etc.).
The Ugly: Guaranteed loss @ Iowa and will be fortunate to finish 6-6 in 2022.

Maybe they will play with more of a purpose this year? Lord knows, they were lackadaisical on the Big Xii road last year losing 5 nut crunchers and as a favorite in 4 of those games!

Hunter Dekkers @ QB will be the key. Coach Bryant once said that he didn't trust left-handed QBs or left-handed crap shooters! :) Of course, he had Kenny Stabler @ QB when he said that before the "Snake" led the Tide to an 11-0 SEC and Sugar Bowl Championship season in 1966.

Go Blue!

The Good:
- Lot of talent that's still on the team
- They return a veteran Dline with KJ Henry, Tyler Davis, and Brian Breese coming back from a season-ending injury
- Oline played better down the stretch of the season and they're able return most of them. With the constant rotation this pass season, lot of different guys were able to get snaps and experience.
- Clemson gets Cade Klubnik (#1 QB / #2 behind Ewers) on campus. I'm not as optimistic as other fans in having a true freshmen take the starting job but at worst it gives the coaches more options at QB next year.

The Bad:
- Clemson had a lot of success with the help of having consistency year-in and year-out in the program but now they lose a good number of great coaches. Not Dabo's first time putting together a coaching staff but it's still going to be a challenge to replace such a staff
- Losing depth players to the transfer portal and ugly if Clemson doesn't start utilizing the TP

The Ugly:
- This offense was 100th+ and DJ was last in QBR in the ACC. Nothing major is changing for the offense over the off-season and will need major improvements in DJ, the OL and WRs.

Iowa State: In regard to my earlier post, not as bad as I thought last year. They only lost 4 road games in the Big Xii, not 5. Just seems like it was more! They did win @ K-State by 13, but they lost @ Baylor by 2, @ Texas Tech by 3, @ West Virginia by 7 and @ Oklahoma by 7. The Cyclones finished 5-4 in the conference going 4-0 @ Jack Trice Stadium with wins over Kansas by 52, T.C.U. by 34, Texas by 23 and Oklahoma State by 3. Just a Jekyll and Hyde team in regard to away and home games in the Big Xii in 2021.

You’re just not eating enough CLONE CONES BRO!!!

not sure whose it will be, but:
id software pain GIF
I think the pain you speak of is feeling OU fans will have when they realize the amount of talent that jumped ship with Lincoln Riley will turn them into a slightly above average team for a few years.
I heard Mario Williams is leaving OU now to go to USC. Crazy how many guys have left with Lincoln Riley or are going to follow him there in the future.

You could be overlooking the amount of NFL talent we’ve been churning out? Most were underclassmen at one point you know. Must be player development or something. :dhd:

So you think you can lose all the talent you have lost, which by the end, most likely will include not one, but two 5 star QB's, 3 if you want to include the 5 star QB that left OU's recruiting class to join USC and it won't hurt the program at all?!?

I've seen fans with blinders on, but you may take that to another level.

Mizzou is still probably a year away from being a player in the SEC East.

It's an even number year so we'll be seeing Northwestern in the B1G Title Game again.

Pitt SHOULD be a ACC contender again with returning a lot of talent and bringing in Slovis.

TBOW was already losing playoff games scoring 50 points. He had 2 first overall picks and nothing to show for it. Until somebody fixes the defense we can have a 10 star a quarterback and we won't win if you can't stop the other team at all.

That speaks to the quality of players you recruit. You can talk about it as scheme, coaching or whatever, but in the end -- it comes down to recruiting.
OU signs a bunch of elite talent on offense -- they don't sign a bunch of elite talent on defense. They sign enough to handle the Big 12, but that isn't enough to handle the other top teams elsewhere.

Unless OU goes to a power running game where they milk the clock, then those 50 point shootouts is what you will see.

Hence getting a hard nosed defensive minded coach that has beaten the Alabamas for national titles and knows what it takes to do so.
