What if Nebraska starts 5-1?

They lose to OU. 4-2 if they win all the other games, which they could.

Indy won't be easy though.

Frost is 0-1 against Indiana.

That 2019 loss was in Lincoln, and Indiana controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball in the 2nd half.
Nebraska led 21-16 at half, but Indiana won the 2nd half 22-10.

Once again Nebraska was unconditioned to play 4 Q's of football.

Hey, I remember Ohio State losing early then going on to win the national championship.

Nebraska ain’t doin that but I DO remember that..

NW has won their division every other year the last 4 years. It’s their year to be good. Also Nebraska had a double digit lead and made some Bone headed coaching mistakes/calls. There is a large argument to be made to say Nebby lost that game more then NW won it.

Im not sure how OU will be.
Everybody rags on Frost for the onside kick(and it was a boneheaded move) but it didn't cost Nebraska the game. The defense giving up 31 points to a team like Northwestern is what cost them the game.

Yea I know I know but lettuce take a fair and honest look at this schedule:

Northwestern - L

North Dakota - that’s a W imo

Georgia Southern - another dub

Oklahoma - ok, huge challenge BUT, what does OU really have now and they played em close last year, may well be a W here too.

Indiana - Win

Rutgers - win

Thoughts?
What if Miranda Kerr randomly proposes to me?

Meh...That bone-headed on-side kick wasn't why Nebraska lost. The Huskers had 2 double digit leads.

It certainly contributed, but NW simply took the game away from them with heart and physicality on the lines.

The Thompson INT to end the game wasn't his fault. It bounced out of the hands of the Nebraska rcvr.

They were up 11 points when that happened. It gave NW a ton of momentum and a short field. I do agree that defense wasn’t great but if they just kick it down, the NW offense hadn’t done much to that point in the second half.

That broken coverage TD Nw in the first half was bad.

I noticed too the Nebraska dline didn’t look physical enough.

The defense allowed them to score. Northwestern didn't score on the kick.

If they go five-one, I will think that they have allowed the kicker call game plays.

They couldn't get any pressure on Hilinski who was 27 of 38 with no INT's.

NW outrushed Nebraska 214 - 110.

Nebraska's Anthony Grant had a 46 yd TD run to put Nebraska up 28-17 in the 3rd Q. Then came the boneheaded on-side kick.
Take that 46 yds away from Nebraska's 110 rushing yds and that leaves 64 rushing yds on 30 carries.
i.e 2 yds per carry.

NW clearly owned the LOS.

I understand, it still gave momentum and a short field. It didn’t help.

Then they go 0-6 after that.

Beating Okie would be a surprise, even with the new staff. 4-2 wouldn’t be surprising at all though

I can agree with that, but iirc it was a crowded area (2 defenders) and he was under pressure to quickly release.

Dude's got a damn good arm.
He rammed in a few short passes that wound up dropped or tipped. Strong arm, just a little inconsistent on some long throws

He put some long balls on the money too. That first TD pass was into good coverage and only where the rcvr could have caught it.

He was on fire when his o-line was fresh.
Credit NW for making some good pass rush adjustments too.
