What Is It With PAC Team Coaches Being Meanie Butts To Players

They are stalling to figure out the buyout!
Saw that too, maybe negotiating a parting of ways. I don’t see how they can stick with him after undermining him with this kind of thing. So looking good on the new era front.

Yeah they can't bring him back and expect him to recruit with this sitting out there.

This isn't the first out burst he's had at UW, last summer when a certain in state wide out decide to go else where Lake went to the high school and chewed the kid out.
That young man's high school staff was standing right there and heard the whole thing, that's something a college coach shouldn't do period

He’s an embarrassment

Yeah that’s bad.

Yeah that’s bad.

This is why the Pac12 is starting to look like they are light years behind football compared to the B1G or SEC. They just operate in a vacuum with their decisions and it shows with the lack of recruiting, competing on the big stage, tv contracts, etc. It is sad because the league has so much potential and despite all of their mistakes, they still produce talented teams and play good football despite all of the obstacles the league puts in front of them.

It's hard to recruit to Seatle with the liberal lockdowns and they had a City Block taken over for a month. These guys don't want to admit it but kids and parents of kids don't want to be involved in that crap.

That doesn’t really make sense though does it? Why would they think about a buyout when Lake did something that their lawyers could use as cause for firing him?

Eeeek.

Politics have nothing to do with it. Montlake isn’t a worse than Eugene or LA.

Don't lump Oregon in with the rest of these losers. We recruit with the best.

I'm rooting for the PAC. The SEC fans around me look at me funny when I say that, but I've got a reason: I want CFB to remain a national game. I don't want one sizeable region of the country to lose interest in it and I fear that's what is happening - The one thing that'll get fans back is winning. Even the nerds at Stanford can get fans to show up when they're good.

I earnestly don't understand why PAC teams can't recruit nationally more. If I'm an 18 year old I want to go to a place with women who want to have fun, legal weed and some of the best beer & scenery in the country. As a salesman I know I could sell that to young men. Yeah. Their parents might object but that's when you hand them an envelope full of money to reassure them it's a good decision.

Oregon has been successful at recruiting, but ultimately a lot of the other programs struggle with exposure...and stub their toe on the big stage when they get a chance to impress.

The thing is is the conference doesn’t need to recruit nationally. There is plenty of talent that is traditionally Pac 12. The conference just needs to quit letting kids leave the Pac 12 that never would’ve considered the SEC. A guy like Tua isn’t going to Alabama or the few Seattle kids that have gone to Ohio State wouldn’t have happened two decades ago. Another issue is outside of Oregon, I don’t think the Universities or Alumnus will ever care the way the SEC or B1G schools do as evident of all the hand ringing fans about coaches yet an issue with money to fire the coach is always the reason coaches don’t get let go.

Your analogy as a salesman is the double edge sword and IMO is a little part of why recruiting has dropped off. People migrate out west not really vice versa. So a family comes out to California or a Washington, have a son but still hold their allegiance for their alma mater or school they rooted for.

People are migrating out of California and if Oregon and Washington don’t get their crap together they will start losing population.

This was unavoidable when ESPN had the exclusive deal with y'all.

To not acknowledge the effects of that partnership is to be disingenuous at best. It has affected every aspect of major CFB and will continue to do so.

I said WAY BACK when most of us were on the Disney boards that this was gonna happen. I was laughed at.

I don't blame any fans for what happened. Its all about the $$$ and has been since that point.

My team is in like Flynn now. Fuck everyone else. It only takes getting kicked in the nuts a couple of times to understand you don't want it to happen again. Get proactive.

Howdy cuz!
