Let’s assume the B1G is done and future expansion is going to come out of the ACC.

They have to fight for expansion:

I think the Big 12 holds the cards on this one and they go after:

Oregon
Washington
Colorado
Utah
Arizona State
Arizona

It makes for an 18 team conference which is not a great number but should get them a seat at the table. The B1G and SEC need OOC schools to play so keeping this group viable will be important.

Looks doable, really. The names aren't bad, they just aren't sexy enough to get an invite to the B1G. I think this could be their only option to stay at the table for both conferences.

I think when you have too many big-name programs in the same conference, you're going to see more 9-2 or 8-3 teams and that's not going to get them into the Championship game let alone the playoffs.

If Oregon stays in the PAC conference and the Pac conference is reduced to say 10 teams the Ducks will be 11-1 and or 12-0 and will be in the Championship games or playoffs more so than those teams in High Powered Conferences.

If there is a 12 team playoff and your conference champ is guaranteed a seat then 8-3 doesn’t matter.

Look at the SEC....

In order for Alabama to do what it does year in and year out they need week teams....

When was the last time someone other than Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Tenn. and Florida won the SEC?

The PAC and Big 12's next move is to sit down and say to the B1G and SEC "Thank you Master for the crumbs." Same for the ACC and the G5s.

When are they going to a 12 team playoff?

USC and UCLA picked the wrong conference to join if they want to go to the Playoffs year in and year out.

A conference made up of these teams would be exciting, competitive and a great counter balance to the SEC and B1G. The upside would be absolutely phenomenal. And the champion in each sport would have no problem making any playoff. The smartest thing they could do would also be to pick a new conference name so everyone would be starting out on an equal footing and feel like part of the "family" from day one.

IF Oregon stays in the PAC, PAC needs to go after 2 more teams to stay at 12

Like teams on par with Vanderbilt and Missouri.....I'm sure there are a couple of lame teams from the Big Sky conference that would love PAC 12 revenue sharing and don't mind losing all the time.

So, do both conferences think they're poaching each other?

Oregon
Oregon State
Washington
Washington State
Stanford
Cal
Utah
Colorado
Arizona
Arizona State

BYU - gives the conference a good rival game with Utah and a solid regional fit.
Kansas- replaces UCLA in the hoops department and the football program is... at least getting a little better

1. the answer is Auburn in 2013
2. Tenn???? Florida???? Florida last won it in 2008 Auburn actually has 2 titles since then.
and Tennessee last won it in 1998. not even sure any players on the current team were alive then.

and whats the right one? neither has been to the playoffs playing in the Pac.

Who gives a shit. I say let’s join the mountain west. We can play in the Kraft Redbox bowl as the champion instead of the #8 team. At least for a couple years anyway, maybe.
