So many of them are out there. I like VERN.

It is usually fairly close to the end results of CFB season the closer we get to the end. Early on its basically useless.

Meh, G5 teams win 1 out of 5 games versus P5 teams, FCS teams a fraction of that. If you are ranking all of them as equal wins you are doing it wrong.

Vern only takes FBS teams and games against FBS teams into account.

Sure doesn't seem to hurt some folks when they're playing 3 or 4 G5/FCS teams every year ranking-wise?

I never have to look at it because our schedule is going to be ranked towards the top no matter what. You just got to play the games one at a time and if you win them your ticket is punched.

OP will learn soon enough. If you are having to look at SOS rankings then you aren't playing a tough enough schedule.

Our schedule is soft as baby shit once again. As a season ticket holder it infuriates me that I spent good money and am forced to watch my team play the likes of Alcorn State, Akron and Georgia State. No wonder we can't beat a team like Penn State!
:yo:

Playing a tough schedule don't matter if you don't win any or enough of them.

That really isn't relevant to my comment.

OP is worried about SOS and the committee penalizing a team for a bad one. It has never been in dispute you have to win the games on your schedule.

...and your comment doesn't seem relevant to the thread. Take a lap.

I'm in no way, shape or form worried about OU's chances in getting to the CFP. I'm so not worried about it that I'm willing to wager with you any equitable wager of your choosing, regarding whether OU makes it to the CFP. Call your shot.
SOS is always in dispute and is part of the criteria used in determining the "4 best teams".
OU hasn't lost a game this year.

The ONLY parts of a schedule the school has control in scheduling are their OOC games...unless they want to change conferences. And then, the receiving conference has to accept them so they really don't even have any control over them either.

Yet...y'all waiting to tank in the playoffs...as is tradition.

The only people playing 4 G5/FCS teams a year are G5 teams....For those playing 3, it is usually advisable to win those games. Some of your Big 12 brethren might want to clue into that...it might make their 3 touchdown losses to OOC P5 teams more palatable.
