You would have really been trippin if you saw Uncle Jed as the Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz. An accomplished dancer, Buddy Ebsen was originally cast as the Scarecrow, had his role switched to the tin man, but fell sick and was replaced by Ray Bolger.

He would have been much younger in that role. He looked like Jed Clampett in Breakfast at Tiffany’s
