when i was kid, Wake Forest's starting center in basketball was from Wake Forest, NC. i always assumed that he was a local kid that stayed at home to play for the Deacs. nope, i was way off. He turned down his local team (NC State) to play for the Deacs

another similar mindfuck is that NC State is located in WAKE county

Yea, when I set out for Wake U. I mapped a route to Wake Forest. Went a little out f the way before my co-pilot got us redirected to Winston-Salem

Had my grade school aged kids join me in the afternoons watching The Rockford Files reruns in the 90's.

Years later, my HS aged daughter asked me who the old guy in the Notebook was because she couldn't put her finger on it.

The old NASCAR races at Bowman Gray(the smaller, non national series still run there) were held on the track that circled Wake Forest’s old football stadium. I think a high school still uses that field as their home stadium now.

I went to see my cousin run a late model race there. Pretty cool

I didn't laugh when my wife talked me into going to a movie called "Crying Game" and I had no heads up....I would qualify that as a mind fuck.
I wasn't really prepared for the Gimp scene in Pulp Fiction and it took me a while to figure out WTF was going on because I gotta be honest that whole scenario was out of my imagination range.
