they are all reporting that it's expected that they both will make a formal announcement this week. I don't know what makes you think this isn't happening. UT/ou blew off the Big12 AD meeting. SEC has said no comment.. This doesn't feel like UT/Tech/osu/ou to the Pac.. this is real

I'm going to start with, I really don't know what I'm talking about.
This is going on in Texas, so doesn't Texas laws rule? It doesn't matter what the laws are in another state when it concerns what goes on in Texas, does it? Texas laws will trump other states' laws when concerning what goes on in Texas, doesn't it? From what little I know about these things, which is very little, the only laws that does trump Texas' state laws are the laws coming from WDC.
So, which set of laws are going to prevail?
I think this is a done deal, based on nothing much, but I believe it is going to happen.

When the Big 12 incorporated they did it in Delaware instead of where the actual HQ is in Irving, TX.
It was done that way to prevent any of the 4 Texas teams (Baylor, A&M, Tech, or Texas) from claiming 'sovereign immunity' in breaking the GOR because they were located in the same state.
If the Big 12 had incorporated anywhere in Texas, then UT could claim sovereign immunity where the case would likely never be heard.

Mike Leach can't get what's owed to him by Texas Tech Univ because of Texas state sovereign immunity law. Texas Tech is a 'state sponsored public institution' therefore under state guidance.
State Sovereign Immunity
Under the doctrine of state sovereign immunity, a state cannot be sued in federal and/or state court without its consent.
The GOR issue won't be heard in Texas or Federal courts, it'll be heard in Delaware courts.

I don't understand the Beamer hire at all. When you look at South Carolina's past hires they have done considerably and surprisingly well with Holts, Spurrier and while Muschamp missed being fair they weren't the only ones to drink that Kool-Aid.Dana Holgorsen makes 4mm per at Houston.

Beamer just seems like an experimental hire with no HC or coordinator experience. He could do great but I just don't see how he got a gig at an SEC school based on his resume.

Im sure they wanted offense after having Will M and guy may pan out to be the best thing since the washing machine but...
Personally I would have hired Heupel for his experience and tried to get recruiting wars goin with UF from his time in FL but they seem to be all in on Beamer.

SCe decided to scale back in pay because they still owe Muschamp his money. Beamer is there to weather the storm and will have the program selling it as building a foundation of sorts. If Beamer overachieves, it is looked as a terrific move, if he struggles and isn't the guy.. They will easily move on from him and hire a bigger name coach, with hopefully a decent roster of players and more importantly Muschamps contract being off the books
