So....47% of Buckeye fans are retarded. Just from the sample here at HN I can validate that as true.
like 53% are retarded or they are scUM fans posing as Ohio St fans. That makes more sense, they want a chance at a REAL title

We are holding the Championship. Certainly, we won't be after the ohio state/Notre Dame game, but you have to make sure that you are on the right side of the scoreboard. Should you lose to Notre Dame, You will have lost the NCAA Championship, not invited to the B1G Championship and lost to Michigan.

The 2023 game wasn't close though, and was basically over at the half. Being ranked 10th and 21st also aren't two elite teams. If there are stakes the game will draw very well, maybe not at the level of OSU/Mich, but still very good. The Bush Push game was the highest rated regular season CFB game since 1996. Beat the following year by OSU/Michigan. Also, I'm under no illusion, but OSU has the biggest fan base IMO, so competing with that is difficult. But if ND/USC can ever have a top 5ish matchup the ratings will be great. But that hasn't happened since the Bush Push game.
If it's a top 5 matchup, would you be expecting ratings again up near 16m?

Booooo!

In this day and climate, probably not. This is a much broader discussion, but I think ratings across the board will flatten out a bit due to the overall competition. Like for instance this past year almost 6 million people watched Tenn vs. Vandy and South Carolina vs. Clemson in the Noon window opposite OSU/Michigan. That was double the amount that watched in the Noon window in 2023.

The SEC being on ABC will have a huge impact on ratings across the board. Having games broadcast from Noon til midnight just doesn't leave a ton of room for a 16+ million game in this TV environment on other stations. Especially if it's a 3:30 or 7:30 start time, which the ND/USC game will always have to be. So in that regard, I think that'll hurt.

Because of the new SEC TV deal, and USC being in the B1G, ND/USC will now always be opposite the best or 2nd best SEC game during rivalry week. That huge number ND/USC got back in 2012, the other games opposite them were South Carolina vs. Clemson (before Clemson was rolling) and Stanford vs. UCLA.

Along with it being two huge fan bases, the OSU/Michigan is also in the most optimal TV window, given the week and competition it goes up against.

Have ND and USC figured out a way to have the game during rivalry week every year, or is it just going to keep changing every year?

Hell at this point it looks like USC is trying to get out of the game altogether, because Riley is a pussy, but USC doesn't want to come to ND in November, again being pussies, so it'll still be in October in South Bend for now. Hopefully USC doesn't pus out and back out.

LOL is this for real?? I hadn't heard anything about that. Riley is such a tool, and his ability to smoke brisket is deplorable.

Ask USC. They stopped wanting to come to South Bend in November because it’s too cold. But that rationale doesn’t work anymore now that they’re in the Big 10.

ND doesn’t mind rotating the away game at Stanford though because they double up on recruiting visits for west coast kids.

Idk if this link will work but it's from this past summer:

Basically other rivalry games were lost because of realignment, blah, blah blah as @SlinkyRedfoot would say...gaping pussy.

I think ND/USC could certainly reach 16 million viewers (on broadcast tv) if it's a mid/late November game and both appear to be playoff locks.

uh oh, what if they are visitor and on the left side of the scoreboard???

Seems USC would get rid of Riley before they got rid of that game.

Up north people must not pay attention to football, that's all I can figure. The amount of B1G fans that claim A&M and Jexas don't have a rivalry was my AHA moment that they are either under the age of 18 or don't know football.
Nah, maize is just a retard. Many up here know Texas/A&M is a rivalry. Just like any that follow college football know how the iron bowl is a rivalry too. OSU fans were right, people like maize make Michigan winning anything unbearable.

“Rivalry”. Lol. Does one side even poop in coolers?

What's a bigger rivalry Texas/Oklahoma or Texas/Texas A&M?
