What's on yer menu today?

Collard greens, black eyed peas and hog jowl. New Years Day tradition at my grandparents.

Love the hog jowl. Like the collards. Hate the black eyed peas.

Anyone that says bacon is better than hog jowl has never had hog jowl
If you call it face bacon, instead of hog jowl, I'll try it.

Smoked jowl is better for cooking.

I'm not gonna eat straight jowl with my eggs.

kurobuta ham
Brussels sprouts "au gratin" (Mostly just cheeses and cream, baked en sech)
Dungeness crab (for me)
some type of potato dish....haven't decided just what yet.

Pinto beans
Corn bread
Corned beef Cabbage with money (traditional, if you get money in ya serving then you will have money all year)
Sausage
Fried taters

Always do the traditional, ham, black eyed peas, etc.

Supposed to bring good luck. Uh huh

2021, tornado massive damage, flooding massive damage, husband ended up back in hospital with chest pains and I got the stitches out of both hands Thursday.

Going with chicken and dumplings instead today.

Roasted Cornish hens
Black-eyed peas and rice
Cabbage smothered with andouille
Cornbread
I have two NY strip steaks currently in the Sous Vide machine, and I'm getting 6 lobster tails ready to broil in garlic herb butter. I think my wife is making rolls and potatoes of some variety.

Hammer wins. I love me some pan seared scallops. Just tain't easy to get 'em here in the sticks.

I'm stuck with a traditional hick menu of ham, black eyed peas, sweet taters and cornbread.
Scallops are the best at home because if you order them anywhere the restaurant is like, "here you go sir, your full serving for $40"
