What’s the worst “great” song ever?

Pretty sure his most iconic song(Born to Run) was out well before MTV launched. I don’t think of Springsteen as an MTV artist
That's fair I just don't remember him at all until Born In The USA and the music video with the girl that ended up being Courtney Cox. Granted I was 12 years old so that was kinda the start of when I would pay attention. I do remember liking that song so much that I assumed his other stuff would be just as good and bought the Nebraska Album on cassette. I was wrong and it made me mad that I wasted my money on that crap.

I hear a lot of stuff now that I liked at 12 and I'm like WTF that is awful.

I like a lot of his folksy stuff, but I’m not his biggest fan. He did see a big spike in album sales after MTV, but all 5 albums he released before MTV at minimum went platinum

as already stated... get past the radio shit. If I never heard Crash again, I'd be a happy man, but Dave is easily my favorite artist.
Of all-time!?

Sheesus Murphy.

eIt’s a horrible song with no meaning and a memorable riff that every 16 yr old guitar player learned in three minutes.
Every 16 year old can learn the riff in Smoke on the Water in less time, Satisfaction in less time. Doesn't affect the greatness of a song. The lyrics to Smell are not even mediocre but the song retains its stature.

Me, 23 seconds into any Dave Matthew's song...

Just can't stomach anything Dave Mathews does or Anything from Matchbox 20 or anything from the Beach Boys, if you've heard one of their songs you've heard all of their songs.
