What’s the worst “great” song ever?

Honestly, Country Music is huge around here, and while my definition of Country is different than most, I hear a lot of shit I don’t like, but I haven’t heard Achy Breaky Heart in years. Hear a lot of Garth Brooks shit that needs to die in a fire, but really, the only Billy Ray Cyrus song you ever hear is that All Gave Some song on Memorial Day

Im thinking you live by this:

A few months ago, I started a verbal log with my wife of "Songs that should be permanently archived" - i.e. never played again due to gross overuse.

That one would make the list. If you wanna inject Nirvana, please pick a different fucking song!

When we were walking into AmFam Field (aka Miller Park) a couple weeks ago, I heard "Summer of 69" on someone's tailgating radio and added it to the list. I also added "Staying Alive" during the game - which would be way up near the top of the list for me, but she disagreed with me because she thinks it's "fun"... ...nah, it's played. the. fuck. out!

Theres only one good Nirvana song.....And thats Lake of Fire....

I hate Nirvana.....

May all your nights be stary.
Happy Oprah Winfrey GIF

mmmmm....

I like Summer of 69.

If you have a problem with that, you can give me a 68. That's where you you suck my dick and I owe you one.

FREEEEEEEBIIIIIIIRD
I put Free Bird and Stairway to Heaven in the same category. Great songs, but they continue to get ran into the ground so much even nearly 50 years after they were released that I don’t care if I never hear either again. I wouldn’t call either bad songs, but they’ve been way too over played

Same feeling I have. I loved both songs as a teenager but I could go the rest of my life without hearing them ever again

I will actually play pieces of stairway on my guitar but I will never play Freebird on it

Both songs were nearly 20 years old when I was born. I’ve still heard them a million damn times. And they’re different from your standard decent overplayed song. They seem like they’re 30 minutes long. I mean, at least Sweet Home Alabama is over in around three minutes
