I'll nerd out for a sec.... At Auburn University NCAT (National Center for Asphalt Technology) they have a test track with dozens of experimental asphalts and road bases. They use this track for tinkering with different asphalt cements, gradations, RAP quantities, rejuvenators, depth profiles etc. Then they drive trucks around them, in circles, constantly and then evaluate their performance. I would like to do something similar but in a colder climate. They do a great job at what they do, but can't capture different climates in the northern half of the United States. I would create a very similar track but somewhere in the Inland Northwest.
