When is Alex Anthopoulos going to be arrested for robbery??

and another one

hard to have an issue with the results so far. Lots of money promised for some time though. As long as everyone keeps doing their thing this is going to be a good team for a long time. Could also get painful and expensive going that far out. Already $108M allocated in 2025 for just 15 players.

Odds say at least one of these contracts will end up being a bad one.

It is nice to see the core players start getting locked up again

Agree, someone will flame out or get a serious injury. As long as multiple don't then all is ok. I just think you see most teams avoid buying out all of these arbitration years for a reason, and that's risk management. Sure it might cost you more in the future but might save you a ton as well.

Meanwhile, the Mets fans.............

A lot of truth to that. Last year when the Brewers were advancing to the post season, the top sports story was Packers training camp.

Da fuq??
Atlanta has some of that too. It was a while back, the Hawks and Celtics were gonna meet in the first round of the NBA playoffs and Boston radio guys used the top sports stories being about the Braves and UGA spring football as ammo for a while

There is always the chance he turns into the next Soroka, but I still think this is a very smart move by the Braves. 6/$75M is barely anything for a starting pitcher nowadays. Strider was nothing short of excellent this year (2.67 ERA, 2.39 xERA, 2.30 xFIP, 13.8 K/9... as a rookie!).

Wish the Red Sox were this aggressive with locking up players.
