Yeah, Cannon is about a six hour drive, which is pretty close to my limit. It's also nice to get visiting in with family. I could probably swing a day or two in VT with a trip up to NH, but that ish gets expensive. Will probably try Colorado at some point, as well, but it's going to have to be when the kids are old enough to either snowboard with us or stay at someone's house while we're gone.

There's a thread that people post pictures of beers they had shipped to them. Some people post 3-4 pictures a week of 5-10 (each pic) rare shit from across the country. Fucking crazy

After breaking my collarbone (and having my bell rung in the process), I'm glad I was wearing a helmet.
 
In my expertise, it appeared way more snowboarders were wearing helmets than skiiers in my extensive sampling of ski joints in the upper midwest.

Personally, I don't get the draw to snowboarding. What a pain in the ass to have to buckle/unbuckle all fucking day. Can't ride bumps, can't do trees real well.

The only time I thought they looked fun is in really deep snow when they pop up and float on top, but now with the ridiculously wide powder skis, you can do that without a snowboard.

I wouldn't want to ride moguls in the first place, with how shitty my knees are.

One thing I like is that I haven't ever lost anything in a fall.

Sure, they can be helpful, and if I'm out west hucking myself off cliffs, I'd wear one, but I have spent a shitload of time skiing and I can count the number of people that I know that had their heads bashed in on my penis.
