Where are we with the CFP after week 12?

@WhosYourDawggy id argue UGA isn’t in no matter what yet. A win Saturday though (which they will and by 100 if Kirby wanted to) will accomplish that. But right now if UGA lost out (again they won’t) I could see them missing the playoffs.

Ah, ... when they lose a game matters? Where's that in the rules? Damn, son, head back over to the kiddies table and let the adults discuss CFB.
The cfb guidelines takes into account losing your last game in the CCG, child. . It asks for preference for champions. Dunce. Get back to the kiddie pool and try not to drown in your self ownage.

Yep. CCG's are a play in. If you can't win your conference you don't deserve a playoff spot. With a 4 team playoff there should NEVER be multiple teams from the same conference in.
That is asinine. With conferences split in divisions, you will have teams who aren't even the 2nd best team in their conference playing in the CCG. Wisconsin playing in the B1G CCG with 5 losses one year. They should be in the CFP if they win?

If every conference were a round robin type where every team played each other and then the top two records played each other -- then yes, the CCG should decide the CFP. Too many times you have teams who back into their CCG with 3-4 losses. You think if Georgia goes undefeated, then loses to Bama, that a team with 3-4 losses are more deserving?

I’m not here arguing that Texas should get into the cfp over the b12 champ after losing their last game… dunce
Good, so since ya called out Georgia and their lack of offense against Clemson and the other teams they have beaten, who should be above them since they shouldn't be "so above everyone else"?

The hypothetical one-loss b12 champ should be above them in cfp preference if UGA loses their CCG. That’s literally the entire point being made here. Explicitly. Keep up.

So possibly Georgia loses to a top 4 or 5 team in the SEC champs game after being ranked #1 most of the season, and a one loss big 12 champ that might beat a top 8-12 ranked team should jump Georgia. Would that be the Oklahoma State team that lost to barely above 0.500 Iowa State? Or the Oklahoma team that barely beat Kansas and Tulane?

Either. Your relying on other’s rankings in a discussion of “what should they be ranked?” is astoundingly stupid. You see that right?

From what I have heard and seen the CFP says in every show, they are looking at who is ranked where and which team has beaten that ranked team(s). So, Georgia should totally drop out of the top 4 if they lose a game after the regular season is over, and the Dawgs lose one game that is an extra game? Sure, sounds about right.

The CCG is an extra game. Got it

Well, do all teams play a 13th game? @WhosYourDawggy said it best on page one.

You seem to not understand that the mission is the best 4, not conference champs. If you don't think that UGA is one of the best 4 teams, you don't understand college football.

So losing games and not winning championships doesn’t matter, even though both are explicit guidelines in cfp. Got it.

hell. It shouldn’t matter if UGA loses to GT. IN YOUR EYES, they’re already a proven top 4 team. What do wins and losses matter anymore. .

Yeah I never even mentioned GT.

I like how they dominated stumbling Clemson to the tune of ten points, and zero offensive touchdowns.
And then there’s their wins over Kentucky Arkansas and auburn… jUsT So AbOvE eVeRyOnE eLsE
So the first game of the year is the game you point out? Doesn’t help your argument

My argument is the last game actually. And it’s the others in this debate saying it doesn’t matter when the game is played. Keep up.

He just sound very stupid

Yeah I never even mentioned GT.
So has UGA solidified themselves as a cfp team already or not?
Because you’re saying that a loss to Bama in the CCG doesn’t matter. So it sounds like you’re saying they’re already a cfp team.
And I’m sure you’re not stating that they’re not currently a cfp team, but a win against lowly GT would take them from currently not deserving the cfp to make them a cfp team, right?
So if a win over GT doesn’t make them one and loss to Bama doesn’t stop them from being one, then they must already be a cfp team.. so the loss to GT shouldn’t matter.
You see how your position has LITERALLY NO SENSE AT ALL?

the games and wins and losses going forward still matter.

Any way you break down your stupid position leads to contradictions and idiocy.
QED

I was referring to UGA losing to Bama and only Bama in the SEC champs game. I never mentioned beating or losing to GT. You did. Nowhere in any of my posts did I mention GT. You must have a difficult time reading. You read shit that ain't even there. No wonder this discussion is so tough for you. A one loss Big 12 champ should not replace the one loss SEC team that has been #1 most of then season especially if that one loss is to the #2 or #3 cfp ranked team. Read what others on this thread are saying to you also. You chose the very first game of the season against Clemson. Let's say that Oklahoma is the big 12 champ. Go back and check their first game. Oklahoma gave up 35 points to 2 win Tulane. Guess what? Tulane hasn't scored that many points against another team this season except an FCS team and South Florida.

By your logic, the GT game shouldn’t matter either. I spelled that out for you in point by point form. That’s YOUR stupid position.
And again, we’re having a debate on which SHOULD be ranked higher, and your using as proof OTHER’s rankings. You do see how stupid that argumentation is, yes?

Well, enlighten us genius on what you would base your stand on.
