Where does Mahomes' performance last night rank among the worst QB performances in the SB?

Lavonte David definitely deserved the MVP IMO. Fournette had a good case too. As did Brady as much as I hate to admit it.

I think Rothlisberger's two Super Bowl performances were pretty bad as well or should I say 2 of his 3 appearances were bad. I'll have to look it up when I get home in a little bit to see if I'm mistaken.

And honestly, I don't have a problem with Tommy getting it either, he had a great game. SB MVP is a lot like the Heisman anymore....

i think he got it by default. Too many different guys on D played great. One did not stand out above the others. On offense Gronk had 2 Td catches but that wasn’t enough either

I haven't watched any Super Bowl that happened prior to 1999(98 season), so if there's some old stinkers in there, some of you old timers can educate me. Also, odds are high that I'm forgetting someone obvious(I'm retarded, cut me some slack)

Only worse performances I can remember are Cam Newton in 2016 and Kerry Collins in 2001
Superbowl XII
Craig Morton got beat up. Threw 4 INTs zero passer rating
think they had like 8 total turnovers or something.
Hell just say Denver QBs as a whole that game.
Worst Qbing in a superbowl I can think of. Combined Denver QBs 8/25 for 61 yards. (Morton was 4/15 39 yds, 4 INTs)

Doomsday Defense Ate that afternoon!

I was pretty drunk and not really paying super-close attention, but it seemed to me that Tampa's secondary completely took Hill and Kelce out of the game. Mahommes looked scared to pull the trigger, and then it just got retarded at the the end there.
Kelce was pretty much owned by number 54 David. David should have gotten the MVP as completely took Kelce out of the game pretty much by himself and allowed the secondary to shut down Hill and after that point KC didn't have much of anywhere to go.

The coaching staff made huge mistake by not going tempo and wearing out the D and trying to get the quick plays. It was their only shot.

Mahomes actually didn't do terrible, he was running for his life most of the game and even that he somehow made very amazing accurate throws that should have been caught. It was the rest of the Chiefs offensive players that no showed. Even Hill had a pass or two that hit in in the face mask that should have been caught. Kelce also missed an easy catch early on.

Mahomes did the most he could with what he was playing with. The rest of the team didn't show up.

Tony Eason in the 1986 Super Bowl for New England. Never completed a pass. Went 0-6 and was pulled in the 2nd quarter

His first was abysmal... 22.6

But he was on the good side of history for that one, so... :noidea:

And yet he made some rather amazing passes under duress.... that his receivers dropped.
The one that sticks out the most is the crazy diving shortstop throw to the end zone that hit Darrell Williams in the face mask....

Haven't looked at the stats but the Super Bowl Shuffle Bears immediately came to mind when I thought about worst performances in the Super Bowl. The most dominating defense and New England actually scored first if I remember but they were lucky to score at all.

Believe they got a FG first somehow. This was the first game I ever bet on with my Dad. I took NE because of Fryar and Grogan. And because my Dad had gotten me a bunch of Boston sports fan swag when he was there for a conference the summer or fall before.
SOB made my tiny ass pay him that dollar too.

Here’s a few not mentioned (yes, I looked it up)

Rex Grossman against the Colts. Ugly
Gannon against the Bucs last time they won (5 INTs, 3 of them pick 6’s)
Chris Chandler against the Broncos (I think he had 3-4 INTs)

I remember that he won one even though he was awful. Was that against AZ?
