Like, put it this way:

You're trying to sell me that these NIL Figures are like 8x higher than schools entire profits any given year?
The school doesn't pay the NIL deals, so not sure why you are linking the two. I agree the OP number isn't well researched and seems to be just a summation of media rumors, but school revenue isn't very useful here. Of course there will be NIL efforts and donations that are separate from the schools generated revenue. NIL deals also span multiple years while revenue is a singular annual number.

Just in the sense that there's no way collectives are putting together almost a billion dollars. Like, just doing the math -- that would mean that Oregon is paying an average of $9 million dollars to every single scholarship player on the roster, every year.

I refuse to believe millionaire donors are that stupid with their money. They wouldn’t be millionaires if they were.

Never underestimate the stupidity of Aggie and Longhorn millionaires.

Why not?

I think you need to read the article and not just the headline.

Do you believe it is only the millionaires that are donating? The number in the OP isn't the NIL deals paid out, it's the donations the schools are taking in.

I just read the post, didn't click the article -- but holy shit this is even more stupid
According to total cumulative “donations and contributions” findings from 2005 through the end of the 2022 season

Yes. It's just another skin of the "who has the most donors/biggest endowment/etc" nonsense

Well I’m sure it’s not all large donations but that’s got to be the bulk of deal closers. I don’t think there’s enough Oregon fans to get anywhere near $1B. That’s Uncle Phil all the way.

Damn pulling an article from August? OP that desperate?

Millionaires?

That’s soooo early 2000’s
It’s all about being a Billionaire now.

Perhaps for Oregon, but A&M gets a majority of its funding from smaller donors. The association of former students has a massive donor list. When there are one-off projects they do hit up the mega donors with naming offers and things like that, but the bulk of the budget are the $100-$1000 donations.

I like the clever folks that ask you to round up or donate at concession stands.
