For your team, which loss do you want back more than anything in the world (well almost)? You can't pick a national title game nor a conference championship game. Was it to a rival? Was it to a scrub team? Was it a home loss where your team got blasted? Was your team favored by 31 and you lost by 6? Did the loss send that season or the program, in general, into a downward spiral?

Cotton Bowl 2017 against Wisconsin.

Would’ve been 14-0.

Or 1999 at home against Marshall. Who was I think #10 at the time. Storming the field would’ve been good times. We lost to em again a few weeks later in the Championship.

hmmm

2016 Ohio State

HM: 2007 App State, 2006 Ohio State

Tough to pick just one. My team is really good at finding ways to blow games.

1998 @ Auburn
2000 @ GA Tech
2002 vs Syracuse
2005 vs Nevada
2007 vs Miss St
2010 @ KSU
2010 vs Sou Miss
2012 vs Missouri
2013 vs SCar
2019 @ Cincinnati
2019 @ Tulsa

2013 Notre Dame

2009 Cincy is up there. I have no idea which game that would fit the criteria works for Mizzou.

2008 TTU.
Colt could have not hiked the ball with 22 seconds on the play clock on 2nd and Goal, or Gideon could have caught the interception that slowly drifted toward him in the chest.
We would have gone on to beat Florida in the NCG.

honorable mention: Colt doesn’t get hurt and we absolutely crush Bama by 23+ In 2009 ncg.

honorable mention: Applewhite starts the 2001 CCG, we go on to take our chances against 2001 Miami in the ncg.

31 point lead at halftime in the Alamo Bowl against TCU and lost.

2008 TTU.

The statsheet’s a little lopsided for my tastes. Tortilla Tossers had 200+ more total yds & a dozen+ more 1st downs.

Plus their kicker missed one while longhorns kicking was perfect on the night.

I think it’s safe to say the better team won.

So is mine...but we have a clear #1: 1984 Navy. Ranked 2nd at the time, playing at home to an unranked service academy. A win would have cemented an Orange Bowl bid and a shot at a Natty.

Oklahoma beat #1 Nebraska that same day, so a win would also have given us our first ever #1 ranking.

The loss messed up the entire college football landscape for that year, resulting in a BYU title. It's possible that we could have lost our last game to Clemson, or the Orange Bowl to Oklahoma. Well never know.

2006 vs Scar. Fucking Jad Dean. Who even names their kid Jad?
