took the dog to get his nails trimmed at a new place yesterday...pretty nice. I might let them give him a bath sometime this winter when I don't want my spare bathroom covered in water from him shaking off. Need to learn to do his nails on my own though, costing me $15 each time I need it done is silly and he doesn't seem to fight it that much anymore.

after, went to donate blood and it took 2 fucking hours because they had a bunch of trainees logging people in. There was this one cute girl doing it, but I ended up getting stuck with the pale white dude who finger pecked at the computer. Luckily they didn't have him putting the needle in my arm.

Have you tried the Dremmel approach with the dogs nails? Way back I bought such a thing from the pet store. It sucked. But then I just pulled my own Dremmel out of the garage and it works great to keep their claws down.

I don't have a Dremel and they have pet specific ones I've looked at. He's 70 lbs and was tough to keep still for that long when he was younger...and I was afraid of clipping his kwik...but he's mellowed since and I think I could handle it now.

Morning all. My mind has been stuck a day ahead perpetually this week. Can’t shake it. But, a few more days and we’ve got a few days in NYC with the 12 year old. That’s the missus plan…take each kid on a short trip somewhere every month to start the year.

So, we will (probably) be spreading Omicron around…..

I adopted my dog years ago. Something bad happened to her in her past with her nails being clipped. I don’t know what it is but she flips out when you try to cut them. Like - everybody in the room is in danger kind of bad. She has to be knocked unconscious for them to cut her nails. It’s a whole production.

I always clipped the quick at least once (and I have an 80lb black lab that was nervous as hell) so I tried this grind down approach. Much easier to not get them bleeding. Just had to use lots of treats to get him used to the sound.

Feels like Friday.
Man, you’re ahead of me. I’m think Thursday in my head.

At least it’s a three day weekend. It’s didn’t notice my employer is starting to give MLK day off this year. Fuck it, I’ll take it.
