Who did what for tHoop?

Came from ESPN in April 2010 after the invite from 46&2. Pretty much "lurk" daily, occasionally post, and stay out of bitchfests.

At one point, elected as one of three mods of the politics forum when we first tried to calm down the hostility, but about a year later, got a new job and "resigned" when i didn't have as much time to read through all the crap posts.

Back to lurking.

Well I posted a ton and kept tHoop bookie busy settling out my bets.....

You're waaaaaaay too good to be mod of that board, man. That's like having an MIT professor teach a bunch of unruly second-graders.
I just gave @Hu War Yu a clown rating at that other place.
Wait, they have the clown rating? That was MY idea!!!

I think there were one mod for each side that was somewhat respected by the other side, then I threw my hat in the ring a few days after the initial post went up after someone mentioned it to me as an impartial and ended up being in the top 3 vote getters.

it took some adjusting in the beginning, especially trying to lessen the personal attacks when people couldn't debate the point. Got some PMs asking why something was edited/moved, but I always tried to explain the reasoning in the edit itself. For the most part, they were respectful and didnt call me Hitler, but it was exhausting waking up and having to sort through the previous nights posts.

This was around 2012-2013 if I recall, so another election year with a lot of unhappy people, which sounds very familiar.

Then I think the moderation went by the wayside and the PF became an even bigger cesspool, but that's what those posters wanted. It takes a certain personality to want to spend all their time in the PF, and you bring it on yourself, so there shouldn't be any crying to admin when you get your feelings hurt, especially since you can ignore/hide the forum or certain posters.
