I went to watch games over the years in Georgia and Texas. My college buddies live there and their kids play football. Georgia, I believe it was Valdosta (I may be pronouncing that wrong). I can't remember who they played but they had thousands of people at the game. It was like watching a damn college game. The entire town/city were at the games.

The game i went to watch in Texas was the most insane high school field i've ever seen. It was a damn stadium. My buddies kid played for Allen and they had over 15,000 people at the game. They had pyrotechnics when the teams ran out. It was unreal.

It is like watching a completely different sport than watching a high school game in Michigan and I've got to watch the best of the best teams in Michigan. They'd get rolled in Georgia and Texas.
Allen has refused to build another high school. They are the largest high school in Texas at a 7,102 enrollment. Damn big high school. The next closest school to them in size is Plano East at 5, 514. They are over 3 times as big as the smallest Class 6A school. At some point they'll have to build another high school but they've held out for a damn long time.

Here's the new classification list for Texas high schools.

7000 kids in one high school? That is absurd. No wonder they build stadiums in Texas for high schools.

Damn, that's a lot of 6A schools. It would look like every district would have to have 10 teams with 9 district games and one non district game. How do they do that? Do they have Div. I 6A districts and Div II 6A districts for the regular season or are they divided just for the playoffs? If a team plays in the state champ. game, how many games would that be for the season? 16?
I was looking down the list and I think I saw at least four 6A teams listed for Round Rock. That place done got dat damn big? I went thru there once in '84 and once in '85 and it wasn't near that size. And I seem to remember there being open farmland between Austin and Round Rock. Guess that's history.

I think 6A is the only one that doesn't break it down until the playoffs. Here's the 6A alignment link.

The two teams that make it to Jerry's World for the finals usually play their 16th game that day. 10 regular season games and 6 playoff games. They try to keep districts to 8 teams so they can play 7 district games and 3 games out of district.

Yes Round Rock has at least four schools and that may be all they'll have. They've filled in and now the growth is going to Georgetown, Leander, Pflugerville, etc.

Here's a quirk with this year's alignment. Cypress Fairbanks is the 3rd largest school district in Texas IIRC. They have 10 6A high schools.
There are 32 6A districts so the break point for playoff brackets is between 16 and 17.
Region 1 Districts 1-8
Region 2 District 9-16
Region 3 Districts 17-24
Region 4 Districts 25-32

Cy-Fair has three high schools in district 17 and the rest are in district 16. It is possible that two Cy-Fair ISD high schools could meet in the state finals! Odds are very high it won't happen... but it could bracket wise.

Here's an example of how population growth has impacted places like the old Round Rock you describe. All that open land ain't open land anymore.

I'll use Cypress Fairbanks in the northwest Houston area as an example. In 1969 I watched Cypress Fairbanks play Dumas in old Gregory Gym for the state basketball championship in what is now Class 5A. That was the only high school in Cypress Fairbanks ISD. Now, CFISD is the 3rd largest school district in Texas and has 10+ high schools.

In Allen's case, that stadium is for a single high school. CyFair ISD, Katy ISD, etc share some very nice stadiums.
Here's Katy's
