Who is winning a natty on a platter on Signing Day?

I’d personally be very pissed if that were true.

But I’ve got my own inside sources(or did, he’s not there anymore), and we 100% paid Nakobe Dean and George Pickens handsomely before NIL was a thing. I’m sure there’s others, that’s just the two names confirmed
The entire world knew Pickens got paid.

That is still not good. His class looks terrible.

He was hired two weeks ago. What do you want him to do? Lol. I can guarantee you, the 4 stars he did land weren't going to go there.

I heard from someone who seems to be following the goings on in CO and he all but said Dion is trying to poach guys who aren’t even in the portal yet which is way illegal but no one seems to be enforcing anything anymore so he’ll probably get away with it.

I’d rather have portals studs that are proven 2-3 year starters with experience than an overpaid 18 year old “5 star” freshman trying to get his money now. FSU is killing it in the portal and they should. Anyone leaving Florida that is unhappy cmon back

"His Class"? He was recruiting guys for Jackson State up until a couple weeks ago. He isn't going to flip guys who built relationships with coaching staffs for 2, 3, 4 years, in 2 weeks, especially to go to a school that was 1-11 last year.

That’s what’s going to happen with NIL. Why offer insane amounts of money to unproven HS kids when you can throw it at a guy who’s proven it at this level. Also I think some guys will come to find that the promised money doesn’t materialize.

ND might be able to make NIL work for HS recruits but they are limited in the transfer portal. It’s hard to get underclassmen transfers, they need to be grad transfers to academically qualify in most instances. Freeman is trying to address that but he’s not going to get a lot of help from the school and judging by his comments it sounds like he’s been told as much.

First, there are highly rated 4* and then there are low 4*. High level 4* are great. Lower level 4* not so much. So far he has landed the 186 and 256 best players. Sorry, those aren't top 4* ... those are low 4*. Now, he might land some higher ones, and might even get a 5* to come. But, getting 2 low 4* is not what he was hired to do.

As to it being his first year, here is the problem ... if he can't capitalize on the buzz he has right now ... the Deon magic ... it's not going to get easier next year once he goes 4-8. Seriously, he doesn't have a built in recruiting base in-state. Colorado hasn't been on the radar of any recruit in forever. It's miles away from where the best players are - Boulder to LA is 1000 miles; ; 1400 miles to Atlanta; 800 miles to Dallas. It's cold, and he has to deal with altitude. Now CU and Boulder are awesome in general, but I am not sure it will be to athletes. And, he now has to compete with the best in the business ... he's not going to beat out coaches like Smart, Saban, Day, Lanning, Riley, even Rhule at Nebraska. All those coaches can easily counter the excitement for playing for Deon. So, if he can't get anyone better with the buzz going on right now, where it won't be bussing any more than it is today, he's in for tough sledding, IMO.

Culture aside, if you got the best 25 players from the portal every year, you still wouldn't have that talented a team. Now add trying to develop culture in that environment.

NCAA has been neutered and can’t do anything about it. That’s what was wanted and that’s what it is.

All this coronation type shit kids are using to show their selection. Fuck that shit. Get off my lawn!

I just want Narduzzi or Mack Brown to sack up and name the schools going after Drake. Kind of a bitch move to dangle it out there and not name who it is. Makes me doubt anyone has contacted him.

I truly can't believe there are people on here commenting about Sanders recruiting class at Colorado this year -- a job he only took like 2 weeks ago, as if he is supposed to pull in a big time recruiting class in two weeks.

Makes me think they truly don't follow college football or have absolutely no idea how recruiting works. These 5 star kids, the kids in the top 100, top 200, hell, even the top 300 -- The overwhelming majority of them have been in contact with these schools and their coaching staffs for 2, 3, 4+ years. IF he gets one or two to flip in 2 weeks, without an official visit or a chance to see what the school is like for games (as NONE of the top recruits were taking game day visits to 1-11 Colorado) -- it'd be a miracle for him.

As far as 5 star guys -- forget it -- Colorado has already said they don't even have the money to pay his contract -- they definitely don't have NIL lined up to sign one of those guys. In the next 2-3 years they could, but now, no chance.

You talk about inside information, sign up for all these recruiting websites, yet you don't seem to grasp how recruiting works.

It isn't his first year, his relationship with 99% of the top 300 recruits is non-existent, while every other school and coach has been in the houses of these recruits, talked with their parents, visited their schools, they have been on campus for official visits, they have been to the school on game day. Deion has none of that this year.

Anyone he flips will simply be taking a leap of faith. Now if he had gone to a school like Auburn, where they are signing 4 star and occasional 5 star -- then yeah, it'd be possible to salvage the class. The highest ranked kid Colorado signed in 2022 was ranked 600th in the country, he was the 90th ranked player from the state of Texas. In the 4 years before Deion was brought on, the signed a total of 3 four star recruits. So he had no highly ranked recruits to talk into keeping their commitment to Colorado. He is starting from scorched earth at Colorado.

And I should add -- I'm the furthest from a Deion slappy who thinks he can do no wrong. I think he is going to struggle at Colorado and I think his kid is going to struggle, as Colorado simply doesn't have the talent necessary to compete right now. It could change with the transfer portal, but even then, it won't change that quick. Next year and the subsequent years -- I think he will bring in recruiting classes Colorado hasn't seen in a long time. I'm not sure if he will be there to enjoy it though, as I think he bounces once his kid is done.

23rd ranked class in the nation.

Oregon definitely the biggest winners. Bringing in talent and getting an easier road to Pac12 CG.
