Huge fail on OP’s part.No tater salad option, we would have accepted ‘Who is Boise State?’.
Sounds all good and well when there are haves and have-nots in SEC and B1G, but what about when they all beat each other up and your #4 team in one of those leagues has 3 losses while the #2 team in the Big12 has 1?its not rocket science..
4 big teams
4 $EC teams
1 p5 team
1 B12 team
2 ACC team
uhm, I see two glaring issues with last years "trend"College Football Playoff Rankings

top 12 last year headed into playoff
Never underestimate the power of the mullet to screw his team over.Okie light has 19 returning starters and they might have the best offensive line in the country. They have the best chance this year of all those teams.
SEC and B1G teams get in unless one or more of the three losses is to one of the lower or middling teams. They might still deserve it even then if the other two losses were close to one of the big dogs.Sounds all good and well when there are haves and have-nots in SEC and B1G, but what about when they all beat each other up and your #4 team in one of those leagues has 3 losses while the #2 team in the Big12 has 1?
My point being you don't guarantee that many slots to one or two conferences because you have no clue how things will turn out in a couple of years down the road.SEC and B1G teams get in unless one or more of the three losses is to one of the lower or middling teams. Looks like more parity in the Big 12 so the top teams may have several losses. They don’t seem much better than the rest imho.
Such is why I’m not a fan of auto bids. At least not for them getting a bye the first round. I’m of the opinion that the byes should go to the best four teams period. If they are all in the SEC or B1G, so be it.
Again, jmo.
They need a qb is their main issueNever underestimate the power of the mullet to screw his team over.
I can agree with not guaranteeing them slots but let's not limit them either. If they are four of the best twelve, they need to be in the CFP.My point being you don't guarantee that many slots to one or two conferences because you have no clue how things will turn out in a couple of years down the road.
Keeping things as vague as possible is the best bet. Guarantee the P4+1 champs, maybe guarantee at least one non P4+1, and that's it. Let the polls settle the remaining spots.
I am for AQs because I want to have a conference like the B12, where teams beat each other and there is no "top" team. The winner of that conference should be rewarded. No one is going to cry for a 2 or 3 loss SEC/B1G team not getting in when they had a chance to lose 1 less game.SEC and B1G teams get in unless one or more of the three losses is to one of the lower or middling teams. And schools like OkieSt, TxTech, KState, even Kansas who maybe didn't have the full NIL support because of a "what's the use" attitude will now be energized to push all in. It will be good for CFB, great for the players, and make every game from week 1 on matter.I am for AQs because I want to have a conference like the B12, where teams beat each other and there is no "top" team. Think of the excitement in the B12 this year ... no TX and OU, someone is going to the CFP which hasn't happened that often in the past. November will be wild with a lot of games that mean a ton.
If it were 8 teams, I am with you. But with 7 at large spots, letting the top 5 in AQ is cool by me.

There is no doubt the 12 team playoff will create many more games late in the season that have an impact on the playoffs. Even ripple effects beyond their own conference implications. And many said adding teams to the playoffs would devalue the regular season. That's just BS.And schools like OkieSt, TxTech, KState, even Kansas who maybe didn't have the full NIL support because of a "what's the use" attitude will now be energized to push all in. In years past who cared about a game between Baylor and KState other than their fans? Now everyone watching the playoff race will be interested in it.
