Twice the musician, sure, but he and his revolving door of megadeth bandmates never really came close to matching the songwriting that we saw with Metallica on their 1st four albums.

I know the argument, and I fully understand it, as those were just unmatchable and it was all happening at relatively the same time. I get it. If you would've told me 30 years ago, that I would've ended up liking Megadeth more than Metallica, I would have told you that you were batshit fucking retarded. Overall, I like Megadeth better. I agree that nothing they ever do will match that 4 album bottled essence, but overall, I would much rather listen to Megadeth, and will continue to buy Megadeth albums, which...I can't say the same for Metalicka

Rust is their magnum opus for sure, some of the greatest riffs of all time on that one. Peace Sells is fun, too.

Believe me I get it. I just can't do it. My bands need to last. (That's not to say they can't be short-lived and awesome), they just can't suck veiny dicks for 30 years.


You seem like a legit metal dude. Are you a Venom fan? I think that album I posted above, is as good as any of em.

Here's where Metallica is for me, currently.

If I hear Master of Puppets on the radio, on a road trip with my 6 and 9 year old kids, I will blow the fucking speakers on that shit, while singing every word on time, way cooler than James ever dreamed of, while my kids lose their fucking shit.


Edit: But, at this point, I just listen to what I want to.

Change that to if we're at a bowling alley er some shit. I will rock that shit in lane 18 like you paid for it.
