I was really into the NBA till the last lockout in '98. But in fairness, my intro to the NBA was during the heydays of Magic, Bird, Jordan, the Pistons, Dominique. It was a fun time. Today's game looks nothing like that.

Actually, no joke I think Cartwright was very under appreciated. What he brought to the table was being 7 ft tall and knowing how to leverage his body. Remember at that time it was still a big man's league especially in the Eastern Conference. Almost every team had a 7 footer (Ewing, Parrish, Smits, Daugherty, Koncak). Cartwright could take Ewing and make him uncomfortable for 48 mins just by bumping him around and pushing him off the blocks. That doesn't show up in the stat column.
