Everybody acts like Saban is the one stopping parity from happening… and he is.. but once he retires Kirby and Georgia are just a Bama clone who will step in and become the New Alabama.

So it may not be as simple as Saban retiring.

Slow your roll now. What Alabama has been able to maintain for so long will probably never be seen again. UGA is in a good spot and I'd love for them to be the team everybody hates because they win too much, but it's never gonna be on the level Bama has been. I'd say teams like UGA, Ohio State, LSU, Clemson and potentially Oklahoma are on the same level, while Bama is on a level of their own. It might not be as much parity as people would prefer, but it would be more than we have now.

It's not just about talent with Saban. It's been his assistant hires and ability to adapt his coaching style as well. Won't be as easy as you think

Saban's got to be the best at adapting to change. That's been the key to his success IMHO.

I think it is a combination of factors, hence why I talk about recruiting needing to change in todays landscape more than anything about Saban.

the other part of things is the landscape changing up with OK and TX moving, NIL money, and the transfer portal. recruiting class rankings are one thing but transfers can make a huge difference too.

i dont know about parity in terms of some drastic overhaul of teams but there will be some movement at some point but for the most part things will stay within a small window of teams with occasional break ins. look at the teams that won and played for the NC over the years prior to Saban at Bama

Depends on how you define parity. I doubt we see anyone having this kind of top level dominance, but will it make more teams playoff contenders? Doubtful.

Hell if you wanted to get weird you could say this helps parity because of him being a coaching rehab factory.

Replacing Saban will be the toughest job on the planet. Replacing Saban will be the second hardest.

I can't read a fucking thing.. my eyes are burning like wildfire after seeing @Mistaken4193 avy.

NIL deals will be the “new Saban “across the entire country. Boston college wins NC in 2034.

Even if Kirby or Dabo take over at Alabama they will never come close to doing what Saban has done.

Might happen even with Saban still coaching TBH. With no guard rails on this NIL situation and schools openly paying recruits now other programs may catch up rather quickly. We’ll see here in the next couple years imho.

Jackson, Smith and Minter have been cussed by Braves fans for a while, but they all stepped the fuck up in the playoffs. Matzek was nails too, but we all knew he was probably our best reliever

Jimbo showed how to beat Saban and now all of Sabans' disciples are getting in on the act.
