I would like to like NW, but then I remember that union bullshit they pulled.

Michigan is always terrible. What the fuck is happening this year. 5-0 Northwestern. Indiana is really good. Penn state is 0-5. Michigan is terrible. Why.
For most of the second half, he had players who entered the game with the following career catches:Not sure who that is, but Mertz has looked brutal. Illinois and Michigan's defenses are non existent. NW is the first defense he has faced who actually plays defense and he has looked terrible.

You could have had Randy Moss and Calvin Johnson at WR and it wouldn't have matter on a couple of the int's. They were just bad throws. For most of the second half, he had players who entered the game with the following career catches:
WR #1: True Freshman, 2
WR #2: Walk-On Senior, 3
WR #3: Redshirt Freshman, 0
TE #1: Redshirt Freshman, 0
TE #2: Redshirt Sophomore Walk-On, 0
It's not exactly surprising that he didn't light up that Northwestern defense.
Truth...you can't give the ball away time and again and expect to win...that's the most basic stat in football...give it away and you loseYou could have had Randy Moss and Calvin Johnson at WR and it wouldn't have matter on a couple of the int's. They were just bad throws.
If those guys aren't any good, why did Wisconsin offer them a scholarship in the first place? For most of the second half, he had players who entered the game with the following career catches:

To develop them into players. If those guys aren't any good, why did Wisconsin offer them a scholarship in the first place?
You mean a P5 team isn't able to recruit players good enough to help out immediately if needed? I understand they should get better over time. But P5 teams should be able to recruit players that are already somewhat developed. Lots of true freshman playing at a high level around the country. To develop them into players.
I know. We have a few also. Depth at WR is an ongoing issue at Wisconsin. But, you don't beat a defense like Northwestern's 3, 4 deep into your roster. Props to NW. Also, props to Wisconsin's defense. Those turnovers did not result in many points. You mean a P5 team isn't able to recruit players good enough to help out immediately if needed? The only non-Freshmen listed don't have scholarships.....If those guys aren't any good, why did Wisconsin offer them a scholarship in the first place?
Wow. In "normal years" I'd say that sounds like a roster management issue. But in 2020, sound roster management has been shot out of the water as well. This year the teams that win may very well be the ones that dodged depletion of numbers...be it covid, injuries, other or all of the above. The only non-Freshmen listed don't have scholarships.....
Also remember, that as good or may be good as Mertz is, he was still our 2nd string QBWow. In "normal years" I'd say that sounds like a roster management issue.
