I've never tried doing a strip roast but I may take a look at trying that at some point. I hardly cook (the wife does) but I can grill pretty well and I always nail the roasts for whatever reason.
 
I will update you, @fordman84....the technology may have come a long way since your wife had it. I am pretty clueless with this medical stuff and I have never had any surgery done. You know more than I do since you have been cut on. I want no part of this....other than supporting the GF through this....like I did with the knee surgery
 
I can't picture me telling her I am picking up the daughter alone. She can't wait to see her.
