Don’t get me wrong he is a much better thrower than the Midget but the Midget was moving and extending plays all night. Would it really be better to put a Statue back there to eat sacks?

Put the statue back there and have a better game plan with quick slants and double moves to keep the defense honest.

I'd rather have the QB that can make the throws. Bennett is more mobile, but let's not pretend his legs are real difference makers, he's not Kyler Murray or Lamar Jackson.

And if JT's mobility is that big of an issue, Carson Beck knows the offense, has a good arm and every coach says he has the best pocket awareness of the three and while he's not as mobile as Bennett, he's not a statue either.

And Brock Vandagriff is a 5 star and talented, and it was game 13.

The 4th best option has been the one starting.

Yup, it's easier to scheme away a slightly mobile QB than it is to scheme away an accurate passer.

Why was Coach Smart so damn stuck on Bennett?

I'm guessing the mobility factor over Daniels.

Much like Kelly goin with statue Coan over Buchner (Mr Mobility) at ND.

Was frustrating as hell so many times.

Kirby Smart likes boring QBs. He seems to pick them based off of how safe they'd be for his daughter to date.
Lambert over Eason, Eason over Fromm, Fromm over Fields, Bennett over Daniels. It's been a trend since he got here

It would be pretty hard to replace Kirby with a coach that can recruit on his level, but with the talent already on the roster, shitcan Kirby and get a HC that isn't intimidated by Saban and can gameplan and be good with the x's and o's, there would be a window of a couple years to get a natty.

If you are only going to turn around and hand it off…..

Who do you trade-up for, though? This shit has to be frustrating, but I'm not sure there's a better coach on the market that can close the deal any faster than Smart. He has at least sustained a high level of success at UGA, even if he isn't beating up on Alabama or winning natties. He's probably a top 5 coach right now and to pull one higher seems difficult especially with the shakeup that's coming in the SEC and the coaching changes that happened this season.

There's always Hugh Freeze. He did beat Alabama with an inferior team, but then you have Hugh Freeze shit to worry about.

Kirby is real good at the recruiting part of coaching.

I don't know. If Hugh Freeze can win a natty, the sanctions that come later would be worth it though. I don't give a shit about being a top 5 team most every year. I want a natty, any season that doesn't end in a natty is the same as going 0-12 as far as I'm concerned.

The Braves' dominance of the NL East meant jack shit until they finally won the World Series this year.

I think that way too sometimes, but then I reflect upon 2003 and remember yeah I'll take 10 win seasons even if we don't win natties. Irrelevance burns a lot more than not being tops. Plus, Smart is probably only waiting out Saban. Once Saban retires, the SEC likely belongs to UGA and Kirby. Sort of how Jordan had to wait on the decline of the Pistons before he went on his run at being the GOAT.

Outside of 2010, UGA has at least been solid for as long as I can remember. Longest active bowl streak in the country, probably a top 10 program over that time. I've never experienced anything like what Bama went through in the late 90's/early 00's. Always being good, but never being the best is pretty damn frustrating.

Jim Donnan, Mark Richt and Kirby are the only coaches I've ever seen at UGA, and I just barely remember Donnan, it's not like we go through HC's. Hell, Richt, Dooley and Wally Butts's tenures account for nearly half of the program's 129 year history.

When tSith decides to retire, the coach shopping for his replacement will be epic.

Wonder if Kirby would leave UGA to take Nicky's helm? lolz

I doubt it. UGA has just as many resources as Bama and he played at UGA, and he has a job for as long as he wants it, Richt was there for 14 years, and I don't know any other major program that wouldn't have fired their coach after a down 2009, a terrible 2010 and an 0-2 start in 2011.
