WOW! Cristobal Has Accepted The USC Job - Resigning Today!

Cristobal has zero connections to USC other then taking their recruits.
I think you are on to something there OD.

Cristobal full time recruiting in So California?????

lol @Gus Malzahn...

He turned down the USC job.

No one offered it to him, his name has not been linked to the USC job by anyone...

But he turned it down anyway.

The only reason this got me was because the moment I read the title I got two text messages back to back on my phone.

That day you find out about your buddies hoop 2.0 accounts.

Joey Harrington, Mike Bellotti on Mario Cristobal to USC speculation

hot takes from Harrington and Bellotti

“I think that five years ago, 10 years ago, USC was probably the best job in the conference, always with potential. Now it is not… I think it’s not as good of a job.”

“No, it’s not, in fact it’s dried out. They’re having a drought,” Bellotti said with a smile. “It’s really that type of a situation.”

Harrington added, “Is it the best job in the country? -- No. Is Mario going to leave? -- No. If he didn’t leave to go to Miami back to his alma mater and in the conversations that I’ve had with him, I truly believe he buys into the commitment to this program and values what guys like coach Bellotti have done before him.”
That truly is moronic if they really think SC isn’t by far the best job in the Pac 12.

What would make it the best job? Tradition sounds great, but USC hasn't been a powerhouse for most of these recruits' lives.

Recruiting, facilities, and administration lag behind Oregon.

Since this might as well be the Game Thread, really nice response from USC in the 2nd half.

Is Washington State starting QB still out? I've been flipping back and forth

Looks like our new coach might have himself a quarterback controversy. lol

Facilities sure, but SC has never had great facilities. The stadium has always been a dump, the administration is honestly pointless. Even though they have been down, they have still put out as much NFL talent as any team in the conference and will continue to. They just need a coach

Nope, last 3 years Oregon has more players drafted than USC. You have to go back to 2018 to find a draft where USC had more players drafted than Oregon.

I saw one article where someone was suggesting Deion Sanders should be considered. I don't even know how to process that one.

Mario isn't taking the USC job. However, if the Fresno State job opened up...
