wow... so Georgia cheated their way to 2 natties... why am i not surprised.

I guarantee that anything UGA has done is small beans compared to Alabama. I am fairly confident that it the NCAA really looked into Alabama (especially 2007-2010 time span), they would find many NCAA infractions.

You don't go from 7-6 to #1 recruiting class (even with Saban) and not have something going on. Past Alabama players have alluded to getting money.

Pruitt was on staff then, so makes sense.

I think a lot of programs cheat to a degree and they only get caught/investigated if something comes up or there is some political issue. Some of the stuff that has happened since 2007 or so really makes the Reggie Bush stuff look silly with USC and that program was sacked. Pete Carroll clearly pissed some one off at the NCAA. Similar situation with Bruce Pearl at Tennessee for Basketball.

The NCAA has never done enough to live up to its mission. Think of the reason for the NCAA rules (to ensure fair playing field). So they will go investigate schools that are struggling like Tennessee with Pruitt, Auburn recently, North Carolina, etc. How is that making it fair?

Go investigate Ohio State, Alabama, Georgia, etc. because they are the ones with unfair advantages. Also with all the rumors and shit coming out of Tuscaloosa including Textbook Scandals, etc. in the 2010 time frame, it had to be a head scratcher, especially with the meteoric rise under Saban.

It was investigated. The NCAA sent down its punishment in 2009. One would think with the watchful eye of the NCAA being on the University from 2007(when the University reported the issue) until 2012(when its probation ended) that they would find other things if they existed. Does Bama(and other schools cheat to some degree, sure) Are they guilty of all the fans think they are, not even close.

The more you know

With how much he cries when he doesn't get the player he wants (and probably has been paying for a while), he for sure has cheated the entire time.

You have to be kidding, right? Is this parody?

You literally had a coach that was giving out large amounts of cash in Mcdonald's bags, and it was being delivered by the HC's wife. Your own school turned them in so they could get out of paying his severance. How in the world is that not fair?

UNC - for almost 2 decades, they ran AA Studies classes that the student-athletes didn't attend but got grades. A whistleblower reported it. They fought it and got off, which is unbelievable. They are a blud blood of hoops and got off with no penalties.

Meanwhile, we got hammered in the Jan Kemp case and then had Gurley suspended for 4 games for selling autographs. When we did bad things in hoops we got hammered. So stop with the "we are getting special treatment" stuff.

And what unfair advantage do those 3 teams have? It seems they made great coaching hires, have a great culture, and win. Meanwhile for 15 years you guys tripped over your own dicks so often it was laughable. Please educate me on the unfair advantage that UGA for 41 years from 1980 - 2021.

Actually you made my point in this bolded statement. NCAA goes after teams that aren't even good like Georgia Basketball while sports like football have gotten more and more lopsided and not competitive (isn't the point of the rules to keep the sport competitive and you have, what, 4 teams that have won titles in last 12 years).

To be brutal, I love NIL because all it is doing is making legal what programs have been doing for decades anyways.

I mean, NCAA sanctions are to make the sport fair but here is a list of teams sanction by NCAA:

1. LSU - ok this one makes sense
2. Air Force - What?
3. Baylor
4. Youngstown State
5. South Florida

So you sanction teams like Airforce and South Florida. Teams that have not had competitive team in decades. That is what NCAA does. Sanction Vanderbilt but don't touch Alabama, etc.

Goal of rules is to keep sport COMPETITIVE. How competitive/how much parity has there been in football the last 15 years, especially with regard to recruiting.

Bring on NIL, give others a chance and make paying players legal.

EDIT: "We got to protect the fairness of the sport against recruiting juggernauts like Airforce and South Florida" - NCAA

@WhosYourDawggy

Meant to post edit in thread. You are missing my entire point. I agree that the Gurley thing was stupid. I am making fun of how the NCAA doesn't even meet the intent/logic behind the creation of their own rules based on how they sanction teams. They kick teams that are down like South Florida, Air Force, Tennessee (keep in mind this is TN 2 years ago) that hadn't won an SEC since 1998, etc. That is not creating the "competitive" atmosphere or even meeting the intent of their rules.

Get rid of the entire system in my opinion.

You also said they went after UNC .... make it make sense.

The point of rules is to make sure people follow the rules. When your own school announces you violated the rules, what the hell do you want them to do?

Again, tell me what unfair advantages UGA has. For 41 years, you guys told us we sucked. We win back to back and are favored to win a third, and now we are so lopsided you want us investigated. SMH. Just get better, dude.

Your own adminstration turned themselves in. How were they picking on you?

UTjr: Hey, NCAA, we were cheating our asses off and we are going go penalizes ourselves.

NCAA: Okay, thanks. Here are some more penalties for cheating your ass off.

UTjr: Hey, quit picking on us.

SMH.

My posts are clearly way over your head.

Goal of the Rules (why they were passed in the first play...) create competitivity in the sport.

Yet NCAA is very selective of the rules (and inconsistent) often going after programs that are struggling and ignoring ones that are successful. You point all the time the recruiting gap all of the time on here and how x team won't compete with Alabama or Georgia because they don't have 20 5 stars. Sure, NCAA rules are working when you have 3-4 teams year-in and year-out getting all of the recruits but let's sanction Air Force...

All the Alabama shady activity about text book sales, players talking about getting paid, program going from 7-6 and losing UL Monroe to getting ungodly recruiting classes never seen before in the sports, and assistant coaches (like Pruitt) from that regime using that tactics elsewhere and getting caught but no the NCAA sanctions South Florida, Baylor, and Air Force or Tennessee when they hadn't had a good season in over a decade and lost 15 straight to Alabama (granted, they did Tennessee right and put it on the coaches so not really whining about it).

NCAA often penalizes the wrong people. Take even Alabama getting sanctioned in 1990s. They hit the program with Bowl Bans and Forfeited games. Well the teams that could not play in the bowl had nothing to do with the sanction and the forfeited game affected players/coaches that had nothing to do with the crime.

Don't get me started on SMU or even USC Trojans losing an entire title over 1 player.

Give me NIL and end the hypocrisy.

It's not over my head, you just aren't making sense. Rules are designed to keep people within the rules. It's not the lack of enforcement of rules that caused UTjr to be terrible for two decades. Your admin was terrible ... horrible hire, an old coach interfering, idiot fans raising hell, etc. You have no one to blame but yourself.

The rules are there. If you think Bama, tOSU and UGA are cheating, prove it. Do you honestly think the NCAA is protecting them? Or do you think that they have good coaches, great reputation, win, put players in the NFL, are fun schools to go to, etc. Just get better and quit whining about the rules not being enforced.

Not sure about Georgia but definitely I think they are protecting Alabama or at least not enforcing stuff against them. Hell, they would probably lay off Tennessee right now because we are one of those "it" teams.

However, they definitely love to kick teams that are down or selectively enforce their rules. They have a long history of it. You can't deny that. This is part of the reason NIL and the Supreme Court went against them. Good riddance. People have talked about it for years.

This isn't even about Alabama. Alabama has gotten screwed by the NCAA (1990s) in the past when they were NOT the "it" team.

Tennessee actually got treated pretty well in my opinion and they went after Pruitt and not the University which they probably should get into that routine more often. I just used Tennessee as example which you have gotten stuck on instead of talking about the point because you get butt hurt about anything "UTjr" as you immaturely call us. Ignore my Tennessee comments and focus on how South Florida or AirForce get nailed but teams like Alabama skate.

Also the entire PURPOSE of the rules went over your head. Why is their the NCAA and these rules? To ensure fair play and parity/fair competition. Has the NCAA achieved that? I would say no. In fact, their process/rules have done the opposite and the sport has been hurt. College Football has lacked parity the last 10 years.

Excited about NIL and the future without the NCAA. Georgia should NOT get in trouble but if they did, you are probably going to have the same viewpoint as me or at least have more sympathy with my action.

If y'all hadn't cheated so much, Wisconsin would have 8-10 natties so far. The only way you can beat us is by cheating...and buying the refs.:bored:
