My mom was a regional roller dancing star. She traveled to rinks all across the Upper Midwest for competitions. It's in the genes.

I went to a lot of roller skating parties growing up...had to be good on skates or else you got eaten alive

those were popular in the 80's

Just got home. Feels like I've been gone forever. It was good to be back in DC but I don't miss it. The traffic from Alexandria to BWI has got to be worse than the 405 in LA.

I skateboarded as a kid, but never got on those death traps known as roller skates again after I fell square on my ass (coccyx) my first time at a skate arena.

Got another hybrid for my rental this time and loved it.

That area is the seventh circle of traffic hell. We went through there at like 6AM on the way home from our vacation in October and it wasn't an awful drive, but holy hell, any time when people are usually awake it's the goddamn pits.
