WTF is this cold ass Tuesday BS?

I teach my kids that being smart isn’t about knowing everything, rather having the ability able to solve any problem. That the answers to everything are out there, and being able to find them is what being smart is all about.

And they’ve seen my wife and I take on challenges where we had zero experience but did the research to figure it out. Hell, you can figure out just about anything these days with YouTube and chatGPT.

Well said and great life lessons.

In support of that consider this statistic:

65% of HS graduates go onto college/university. After the first year less than 30% remain. It isn't about smarts or intellect, its about resiliency and grit. There are a lot of "smart" people who don't finish (ex. college) because they don't have the skills to work through challenges.

My Dad always had a saying about when you become an adult. "The world is going to take a chunk out of everyone's ass, its up to you how big that chunk is"

I live in Virginia about 20 minutes from the North Carolina line. It went from good temperature nice Fall weather straight to winter. We had a few days where it was 41 in the morning and up to 68 around 4:00. Now, we are in the low 20's in the morning and low 40's around 4:00. Only damn thing is I wanna see some f'ing snow.
