WVU to the ACC

They may eventually desire a southern school but they don’t desperately need it and by adding one or two they make their scheduling (especially for non-football sports) a traveling nightmare.

Plus the B1G presidents are not going to be happy with FSU academically or the fact they are missing AAU status. You have a better argument for Miami joining.
They have a "southern school" Maryland LOL

FOX needs a south school desperately.. I think FSU is probably their #1 choice.. UNC doesn't do much for football, which is why I think FSU is their top choice..also..GaTech could be up there too..

Definitely a better geographic fit than where we’ve been for a while. The powers that be wanted to “stay with the Texas brethren” even though they were 600+ miles away AND in a different time zone. EP is in mountain time.

Now those Texas brethren, UTSA, Rice and UNT have jumped ship.

So all the B1G spewing about only being interested in like academic schools was and is just blather?

Unless the school in question is ND, a non-AAU school isn't getting in. B1G is more than a group of schools playing football, it's about presidents/boards looking at individual endowments by other schools for stability as well as the research money that can possibly be shared through AAU.

I think they are serious about AAU. For that reason, FSU and Clemson aren't getting in. And neither team can afford to leave the ACC now anyway. To get out if ACC GOR, every other member school has to vote yes to drop their GOR so they can leave. That isn't happening either.

Notre Dame is now an AAU school.

@HammerDown is gonna love being a fan of a B1G school!
Are you kidding. Every time Vandy whopped B1G ass, I'd probably get banned here for at least a week. My conduct would be completely unacceptable for any poster and the day we went to Columbus and won, I'd put Jim Tressel on one of those Jeff Bezos rockets that look like a gigantic, erect penis and shoot him to Mars.

Ga Tech is THEE most Big Ten school in the entire Southeast: academics and research, big urban center, not really good at football anymore, superghey band uniforms
