That's true.
I understand, and I don't begrudge or judge people who fish - my son loves it - I just personally would have a hard time fucking something up for fun.
I also think it's weird that hunters are looked down on if they bait their prey because that's exactly what fishing is. I think it should either be fine in both instances, or not.

Reasonable question, but it's not really an apples-to-apples comparison because fish aren't in my home.True. Fish have feelings too.
Just curious, do you let ants, spiders, and mice roam free in your home?
I catch more fish than I can eat, and I love fishing. Also your bass family is edible, but not the best eating, but they’re fun to catch. Catfish, crappie and bluegill usually go in the freezer. Bass, striper and gar get releasedCatch and release is weird to me.
I get it and I don't think there's anything wrong or bad about what you do.I catch more fish than I can eat, and I love fishing. If they didn’t like it, they wouldn’t squeal for more. But other than a traumatic experience, catch and release doesn’t harm the fish unless they swallow the hook, then they go in the freezer regardless of species because they probably won’t make it if releasedI get it and I don't think there's anything wrong or bad about what you do.
I mean, at least in regards to fishing.
It's probably wrong to fuck all those pigs.

I’m too skeered to try puffer fish. You’re putting your life in the hands of a chef.I ate barracuda. I think that's kind of cool. Also puffer fish.
True. However, this particular chef assured me that "it is very safety."I’m too skeered to try puffer fish. You’re putting your life in the hands of a chef.

Gar actually isn’t bad eating, there’s just so little meat compared to the size of the fish and it’s really not worth it.If it's bass I'll keep it. It's not bad, just not the level of walleye, crappie, or bluegill.
If it's carp or gar, I'll toss it back to take it's chances. If it dies it's turtle food, or floats to the bank for critters to chow after dark.
It doesn't go to waste either way.

Not enough carp around here to fish for.

No shit.I hope your son's Mom eventually found a man with actual balls to raise your son.....
Says someone who apparently doesn't fish.
Carp are pound-for-pound one of the best fighting fish, but most don't eat the bony bastards.
Small mouth bass also fight like a mf'r but most don't eat them. Bass is not good eatin'.
