Bookie:
$ 929.00
It's that time of the year. Underrated genre too. My favorite off the top of my head are probably:

1. The Shining
2. Blair Witch Project
3. The Poltergeist
4. The Sixth Sense
5. Heredity
6. Scream
7. A Nightmare on Elm Street
8. Friday The 13th
9. Halloween
10. Paranormal Activity

Was thinking of including Alien and Silence of the Lambs because they are great but ultimately I don't consider them horror movies

Are Nosferatu and Night of the Living Dead really 2 of your top 10 favorites or were you just trying to go with what people consider classics?

In no particular order:

Halloween
A Nightmare On Elm Street
The Thing
Sinister
The Shining
Fright Night
The Conjuring
It (remake)
A Quiet Place

Created a thread for this last year, why not update it...

Typically I don't add movies like Jaws or Aliens because I feel they aren't exactly horror, but I will this time. Obviously the order can change on how I am feeling at any given time.

10. Halloween
9. Alien
8. The Shining
7. Aliens
6. Jaws
5. The Conjuring
4. Signs
3. The Conjuring 2
2. The Thing
1. The Exorcist

Honorable mentions: Se7en, Frailty, 1408...

When my kids were little (my oldest is 45 now) on Saturday night the local pbs station would have old black and white horror movies on. We only got 4 channels and that was one of them.

I'd make a pizza and we'd always watch that every week.

Big fan of slashers? Is that one of your preferred genres?

I think Alien is horror, but I think it's weird you say that but have The Sixth Sense so high. I don't really consider that a horror, I find it more thriller personally.

Those movies all scared me at one point in another. Alien never scared me. I love ien but think it's more of a Sci-fi Thriller than a horror movie to scare. Sixth Sense scared when it came out. Those classic slasher films like nightmare on elm and Friday the 13th scared me when I was a kid.

I recall the Sixth Sense having a jump scare or two, but idk anyone that would call it 'scary', but hey, to each their own.

I don't remember being scared too much by those slasher flicks, but that Tim Curry Pennywise freaked me out as a kid lol. Probably didn't help that I watched Killer Clowns from Outerspace shortly before watching It.

Anymore, I just hope a movie can make me arm hair rise lol. Not much out there that I personally find scary.

Friday the 13th movies are entertaining, but I never found them to be particularly scary. Much prefer the Halloween movies to them for a masked slasher franchise.
