Your Team's Lowest This Season (What Will You Accept)?

If you average every first year head coach since WWII for Notre Dame, you are looking at an 8-4 regular season this year.
One of the outliers for that was oddly Ty Willingham. Lol.

7-5, anything less than a winning season gets Drinkwitz on the hot seat.

And here's the kicker.

Did BK do a number on the program like Jimbo did when he left FSU ???
No. I said he’d leave it better then he found it and he did. BK was good but was unwilling or unable to take the team from good to elite. But it took him all the way to 2017 before any consistency was established. He was 8-5, 8-5 12-1 then back to 9-4 then 8-5 (by this point fans started calling him coacho cinco), 10-3 then 4-8.

After 2017 is when at least 10 wins became the norm rather than the exception.

Kelly gave up recruiting elite talent and made comments that he’s shopping down a different isle than the SEC and Ohio states of the world. Freeman at least has the guts to go after the same talent pool. That’s what’s been lacking.

8-4 losses to UGA, BYU, Utah and some other unkown that Oregon actually should have won but doesn't

I will accept nothing less than getting the Axe back.

Just win the Big 10 West.

Lose the CCG and lose the bowl I'm fine with, but this program needs something to build on.

6-6, 7-5, 8-4 ("yay we got bowl eligible") without a Division title is not good enough in year 5.

Counting an Oklahoma loss out of conference, Nebraska might be able to win the Big 10 West with two conference losses (9-3 overall), but no more.

The Big 10 West champ has never had more than two losses in conference.

2021: Iowa (7-2)
2020: Northwestern (6-1) Covid
2019: Wisconsin (7-2)
2018: Northwestern (8-1)
2017: Wisconsin (9-0)
2016: Wisconsin (7-2)
2015: Iowa (8-0)
2014: Wisconsin (7-1)

Well last year’s 7-5 was the worst record since shortly after we moved up from the FCS in the mid to late 90s, but I could probably live with 8-4 at minimum. My expectations continue to lower with each passing year unfortunately.

The defense should be stout. The secondary should be ridiculous and the D line should also be a strength. The receivers are a weakness. They suck in my opinion. The O line should be improved and the tailback when healthy is money. I’m curious to see the freshman RB too who is expected to develop into a stud.

A successful season will likely hinge on the improvement of a lackluster offense and whether or not they can generate some explosion plays which have been nonexistent.

I think theres 5 games Iowa should win, 2 they should lose and 5 that are at least moderately in question ( with 3 of those 5 at home )

So I'll say 7-5 is the least id expect

But the reality is i think 8 or 9 wins is most likely

9 and 3
Losing to Oregon St and the Mormons and probably Air-Force, we just can’t seem to figure out how to stop the triple option.

I don’t disagree with your comment about our struggles to stop the triple option, but we had beaten them four times in a row before last season’s narrow loss. That said those dudes are going to be very tough this year…..again.

1-10 for San Jose State would be a success. But USC my team this year since I am predicting a playoff position.

7-5 if not, Neal gotta go
