Youtube TV dropped ESPN + Disney

We have the deluxe package with unlimited everything and it is like $92 or something. I actually thought about switching to YouTubetv due to the price and having the channels I care about, plus we don't really need more than 6 devices which I think is the youtube max.

But yeah, without espn... sadly, because I hate espn, it just isn't worth it....well wait a minute. I still have espn+

I might still do it lol idk.

That's what it's all about right there. What are a household's TV preferences?

I don't watch a lot of TV outside of CFB and news, so it was a priority for me to get every channel that would potentially carry CFB. The only one not available on HULU (at least here in NE) is the PAC 12 network.
HULU's got more channels than I could ever need.

I think like $10 of this $69.84 is for the basic ROKU service which has it's own TV channels as well.
My TV is a 2016 model Samsung so it doesn't have HULU already loaded on it. I need a ROKU stick. If my TV had HULU pre-loaded that price would be more like $59.

How nice of them to do this right before bowl season and the playoff. Price dispute so they dropped ESPN, ABC, and Disney. Other streaming options for sports?
Sling tv offers first month 10 bucks and has ESPNs they either have it fixed in a month or bowl season is over either way 10 bucks and we save 15 by not having them on YTTV i did it as a temp stop gap (all services deal with this shit at least there are options)

NO chance i ever switch to any other service, YTTV has the best User experience and DVR options out there. ABC cartel will be back eventually

Fuck COX in their pooper!!! Youtube TV is 10000x better even with the abc cartel drama. :D FYI YTTV has a 3 device stream limit on their basic version. for i think 15 more you get unlimited devices and i think 4k everything or some shit i have never needed it between individual apps if i really need more than 6 devices i can go that way (bowl season)

I have the Hulu Live package with no ads and it comes to about 76 a month. Got a text a few weeks ago that it's going up 5 bucks soon.

does your internet bill go up because you are streaming a lot? TBH I still have direct TV. There are a few reasons why I kept that are unique to me. Also, I don’t wanna deal with having no TV if I run into streaming issues.

I gotta get with the times, I'm still paying $230.00 for Xfinity.

That's my biggest fear.

That will depend on a few factors. A) how much watching does a household go through. Mine goes through almost 3TB of data a month so i have to have Unlimited Data. B) does your ISP charge extra for more data or is it included? (cox is all i have available after moving and they charge a premium to have unlimited data $50, fucking dickheads)

I would imagine if i didnt have a family of 5 with at minimum 2 tvs going at all times and 7 xboxes and 4 pc's always updating various gaming files (some are 100GB updates every month or so) it would be a different story

You can always run OTA as a backup, and the new OTA standard will bring even more features including 4k OTA even Pay per view with atsc 3.0 when it gets finished. You can even have just 1 antenna and still deliver the OTA the same as streaming (network) with something like a HDHomerun Connect (network based over the air tuner with multiple tuners inside) which is what i do and works well in those "what if" moments

Aside from Monday Night Football I never watch ESPN.

The streaming services are all worthless and they're gradually making it to where you have to have so many services to get what you want that it costs about the same as satellite and is far less easy to use. I tried the streaming for a while. Got rid of Netflix first because Bojack Horseman and Trailer Park Boys were the only things worth watching on the whole thing, and Hulu is only good for Letterkenny. Can't get Braves games on Youtube TV. I said fuck it and went back to DirectTv and have no intentions of going back to streaming. When all you really watch is sports and Adult Swim cartoons, streaming kinda sucks donkey balls.

I haven’t had a problem yet with outages. I would use my ipad if home internet doesn’t work. Ipad has wireless service.
price of internet is same every month. But I get a super discount thru my work stuff.

All of my televisions are streaming TV's now with either Roku TV's or Roku sticks. I have a 200 Meg service at my house, cable modem with Google WiFi. We all have phones, laptop/desktops & xBox's & P/S's. So 6 TV & all the other stuff. Never had an issue with streaming. Network & ISP have worked flawlessly. Well except that time the coaxial cable got struck by lightning. LOL

how many different internet providers do you have in your area? Is there much competition?

Only 2 choices here, the Phone Company or the Cable Company. We went with Cable, Spectrum has a great network with a cable modem instead of a DSL modem that the Phone service offered. $74.99 for around 220 +/- MEGs, unlimited.

The streaming options for me have been great at my house for the whole family.

EDIT: I'm sure there are more companies that offer service in my area. Satellite & cell phone services seem to be getting into that business I think.

here in Vegas there’s really only one viable option. Cox. There are others but they are terrible! Also, I don’t think they offer an unlimited package. I could have that wrong but friends of mine who dropped direct tv saw their internet bills go up so much there wasn’t a real savings so they went back.

Here’s a little known secret about direct TV. You can put it in multiple locations and still pay for one account. Unlike internet which is tied to an address, satellite beams a signal to a dish. It doesn’t know where that dish is. It could be in a different state. You may not get your local channels because those are “spot beamed” but that’s the only drawback. If however, you your account is in a major market (NY, LA, etc) you will get the major networks (CBS, FOX, NBC and ABC). It’s nice bc if your acct is out of the east coast (ie NY) but your dish is on the west coast you will get those network shows 3 hours in advance. Also, if you have two accounts ( one East coast and one west coast) you will get around all sports blackouts. If a sporting event is blacked out in your area bc of network rules just switch the feed to the other account and it will be there.

Or so I’m told…

😇

I know what you mean.... I had the original Direct TV back in the late 90's. We got pirate cards, got free satellite. My buddies got free satellite too. LOL

If I had to pay for how much internet service I used, I would not be streaming. The DTV setup would be much better for television
